    if there is only a single tank then its either a Primatic cylinder or its a sealed\pressurised system, if it was a sealed system you would have to top it up via a filling loop.

    Gravity hot water vs pumped central heating

    did with my old gravityDHW/pumped CH, as it was off a BBU with only 2 tappings used. (28mm flow to cylinder was teed off in 22 for the ch pump). It will always take longer for the hot water when the cental heating is on anyway. convert it to fully pumped!

    I've been searching for an opening with BG (as an apprentice) since 2003 and the postcode search is stupid - not one vacancie for my area for any kind of job. ask the people already with BG to recommend you for an interview - defo the best bet.

    Plumbing Courses - Any good?

    I cant possibly see how a 4 week course would prep someone enough to start up on there own straight away. Maybe on the cold water side and thats about it. IMHO but good luck and try and get hold of the JTL plumbing NVQ 2 and 3 books...

    did a search and read about degausing (or sumthing), anyway waved my telescopic magnet around the screen to demagnetise (or magnetise) and its ok ....for now! probably get a new TV (it cost £200 and i take it it'll cost upto a hundred to get an engineer out).

    So do you use a 2 port valve with or without auxillary switching or is theer a specific type (ie aux switching has nothing to do with it). and i know you get volt bfeee room stats but can you get volt free cyl stats (i presume you can). I'm asking this as i'm doin a Sime combi and megaflow...

    The trick is (with the oring type) is to put the olive on the pipe (in the actual position for tightening) then put the insert in the pipe. BTW - dont forget to put the nut on the pipe first :wink: see the apprentice knows something :D

    why has Johnathan Guest changed the inserts to ones without o-rings? dont tell me that they are only for use with compression fittings and the o-ring versions for the pushfit fittings :shock:
