    Its not the rad. Its the rad tail it just unscrews out. If it is the extendable rad tail from screwfix i would def change it as it will only get worse.

    Just try it. What have you got to lose. Your suggesting no smell when the burner is lit so as soon as the burner is extinguished turn the gas off to the appliance. If you smell gas in 20 mins time then cant be the appliance

    I would do as @Steelmasons suggested. Wait till boiler switches off after heating. Turn gas cock under boiler off. Return ten mins later when the smell has been appearing. If it still smells of gas then its not an appliance fault. The smell is coming from elsewhere.

    I take it you are trying to remove the insert within the tap? Using a spanner? I use a short length of steel tube over my adjustable spanner as a lever to get more leverag. Then a short length of 28mm over the tap spout to hold the tap in place

    Get a ceiling fed mixer like the aqualisa quartz. Much neater but quite expensive.
