    It was just a little buzz ob thankfully. Had to strip the whole boiler pipes etc off the wall before i got to the bottom of it. Firstly i thought i screwed through a wire with one of the pipeclips or boiler bracket.

    I once fitted a boiler which became live. I however noticed this halfway through when i touched the stainless draining board with one hand while the other hand was touching the gas pipe. Turns out the whole wall was live. A broken cable within a damp wall.

    Its common fault and quite an easy fix. If your engineer hasnt come across one before its quite easy to suspect other things as the crack is usually a hairline one and hard to spot. Good luck

    I can see the water coming from the sump in your pictures. Get somebody else in, who is familiar with the boiler

    As said above the sump is cracked. About a 160.00 repair within my area.

    Your question didnt say co2 in a room just co2. But yes you can do a room test with a fga for co levels. For continous monitoring your gonna need something else. Thats my take on it anyway.

    Pictures needed. Could be the seal where the wall meets the floor. Leak detection expert? Was he a plumber? Try get a plumber out to look at the job.

    Im interested in getting some rough drawings done for a loft conversion. What do you need? Floor plan of existing 1st floor and measurements of loft? Not very good on computer drawings but could get some measurements down and forward them on.

    No need to open any cold taps unless you cant turn the stop tap off. Turn it off unwind the packing nut and as gigz says wind ptfe round, tighten nut and open stop tap.

    If there is no water running down the threads on the waste or around the trap. Then its your basin.
