If your changing the pipe you will need a mcalpine compression elbow. They are quite big an bulky so might not look great.

They will be a way to take it off. Either a button or some hidden grub screws but your picture is not the best so cant really help you

It will be the blow off. Sounds like the electric heater hasnt been fitted correctly.

Is the lockshield end hot then?

Sounds like the trv is fine. Turn lockshield fully anti clockwise?

Leave the trv head off. If the head is off then the trv is fully open. Is the pin sticking up? Can you push the pin up and down?

Take the trv head off.Turn the trv head to number 6 and place over valve and tighten
