Thermostatic valve flew across the room = spontaneous flooding

I think you would struggle to prove it if im honest. He seems the sort of person who will try anything to worm out of it. Most tradesmen make mistakes from time to time, but only the good ones admit to it.

draining heating to repair pipe with naill in

Where there's a will there's a way! It is possible to solder with a bit of water still in pipe but depends on pipe size etc. but you may as well just fully drain. Is this in your house?

draining heating to repair pipe with naill in

Yes open bleed points. Yes most merchants sell them. When i have been stuck for one in the past i just get the file out, and file the stop in the middle of the socket.

Boiler wont ignite pressure on 1.5 (moved from Information).

Bleed all rads via bleed tap on side or back of each rad. Start downstairs work your way up. Keep topping the pressure up when it falls

Boiler wont ignite pressure on 1.5 (moved from Information).

Sounds likes you still have a lot of air in the system keep bleeding the rads get as much air out as you can.

Boiler wont ignite pressure on 1.5 (moved from Information).

After draining your system to do the alterations did you re fill the system via a filling loop? If not you need to find it, usually under boiler

Try plumbers merchants, ask the staff to keep your number behind the counter.

Boiler wont ignite pressure on 1.5 (moved from Information).

Did you fill it back up again once drained? Maybe the pressure gauge is giving a false reading if system is dirty.
