Adobe reader 9.1 / Acrobat reader.

There's no problem at all with just using Reader. You only need Acrobat for creating and editing PDFs and there are cheaper tools available for doing that.

Adobe reader 9.1 / Acrobat reader.

If it came pre-installed then it was probably Reader, not Acrobat. Earlier versions were called "Adobe Acrobat Reader. But as I said, check the version. There are upates available for Acrobat 7 and 8 as well as 9. Adobe products are nothing to do with Bill Gates. (And Adobe's pricing...

Adobe reader 9.1 / Acrobat reader.

Depends on how you bought it and the level of support you have. Whoich version do you have? If there is a securoty patch available for it (see link in my last post) simply re-install from your original media and then apply the patch.

Adobe reader 9.1 / Acrobat reader.

Adobe Reader is a viewer for PDF files. Adobe Acrobat allows you to create, edit and view PDF files. They're not the same. Kaspersky is probably flagging up this issue: http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb09-03.html

    on/off switch.

I've seen this problem once or twice on a destop machine with a dead CMOS battery. I don't know how easy that would be to swap on this model of notebook though.

Question regarding master and slave telephone sockets

If you insist on removing the NTE5 then join the wires in a junction box. Twisting bare wires together and covering with sellotape is asking for trouble later on. (I know you didn't mention sellotape, but that's where it's going... ) All of your sockets will need to be masters. I only...

BT Privacy At Home is a free option on BT domestic lines. It gives you caller display and signs you up to the TPS. Of course you need a compatible display phone to see the numbers.

Can I Upgrade The RAM Memory Myself?

It's fairly simple. Just switch the PC off and unplug it before you start. This tells you what you need: http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/listparts.aspx?model=Aspire%20T120E DDR PC3200, up to two 1GB modules. Crucial has given me good service but there's no real difference between...

It won't be an OST unless there is an Exchange server involved - in which case the OST is only an off-line copy. With no Exchange server Outlook keeps stuff in a PST.

    Removing Office 2007

Sorry, don't have a Vista PC here to check it on, but on Windows 7 (Vista will be this or like I said before) you would be looking for c:\users\(user id)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook AppData is hidden.

    telephone extension

bernardgreen Absolutely agree with what you say about the filtered faceplate and running broadband seperately from voice - it's how I've done it at home :D But if I understood it correctly, isn't the reason to leave the ring wire disconnected at all sockets because the wire is...

    telephone extension

Nothing. You don't need number 4 either. And if you have broadband you may be better leaving 3 disconnected. 3 is the ringer and isn't needed if you have a microfilter on the other end as that has a ring capacitor built in to it.

There are two similarities between Outlook and Outlook Express: 1 the manfacturer 2 the word Outlook in the name That's it. With most software, if you remove the application then the data stays. Outlook's data is easy to find. Assuming that there is no Exchange server involved...
