    visonic powerlink2 and port forwarding

I'd trust the online checkers far more than trying to route from my LAN. Do you have a spare PC you could setup with a service and test against? Kind of rule out the Visonic in the first instance until you prove the router..

    visonic powerlink2 and port forwarding

How did you do this? I suspect you were still behind the router firewall so connected ok. What do the many on-line port checkers say about 443? http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ http://www.ipfingerprints.com/portscan.php

    Visonic Powermaster-30 with GSM-350 PG2 problem

Sorry you're having problems. My GSM module just plugged straight in (PowerMaster-10) and was recognised on next power up. ie, it just worked..

    Visonic PowerMaster 30 alarm

Planning the zones/devices on paper first really helps. Then enrolling extra devices and programming the control panel with the required settings was easy. Not being an alarm pro it took me a little time to understand all the different zone types, like interior, interior follower, perimeter...

    Visonic PowerMaster 30 alarm

I've got keyfobs on the car keys and chicklets on the house keys etc. The problem is waking up the keypad to flash your chicklet. Will persevere a bit longer but if it doesn't improve maybe I've just got a bad copy and shall swap at suppliers..

    Visonic PowerMaster 30 alarm

And the answer is no. The KP-160 is just for arming/disarming. No setup via the KP-160 is possible. TBH I'm not finding the touch screen very responsive at all, and can sometimes take quite a few taps to wake up.. Although coming from an amoled smartphone maybe I'm expecting to much!!

Visonic SR-730 (MCS-730) siren How to wire to AC and jumpers

Thanks for the reply. I spoke to Visonic support and they confirmed only one option of siren for the PowerMaster range. No AC powered siren available for the UK market. So, arguably, the documentation is wrong, which lead me to greatly exaggerated the level modification required to this...

Visonic panels - Abort Time, Entry Delay, Siren on line

Regards the Abort Time. I haven't installed my external siren yet so only have the PowerMaster-10 on the workbench whilst setting it up. I've set the Abort Time to 30 secs but the panel siren sound instantly when triggered via a PIR (manual says it should sound warning beeps). Is there...

Visonic SR-730 (MCS-730) siren How to wire to AC and jumpers

I've got two Visonic SR-730 PG2 sirens which I believe are just MCS-730 with a PG2 wireless module. Anyone know how to connect these units to AC? The instructions aren't clear. Am I soldering the 9VAC feed to the AC IN (J4)? Also, the instructions say "When external power is used...

    Virgin installer cut bt line?

After posting that I went and checked again as obviously VM don't use the BT line so thought it strange. What I mistook for the incoming BT line was actually the VM line. My BT socket is fine and so edited my above post. Shame you were so quick to reply ;)

    Virgin installer cut bt line?

This thread prompted me to have a look at our telephone wiring and luckly VM have left the BT socket connected. They also kindly rewired our extension network back into the VM socket.

    Visonic PowerMaster 30 alarm

Well I purchased a PowerMaster-10 and cracked it only last night. Can 100% say it will NOT accommodate a PowerLink2 broadband module. The installers manual, available of download over the internet, has been updated significantly and the section describing the use of the broadband module...

alarm installation, recommendation, and DIY or professional

My wireless PIRs take CR-123A batteries, which can be had for ~£1.60 each! Devils in the detail, so do your research and work out costs..

    Visonic PowerMaster 30 alarm

I'm going for a PowerMaster-10 and like you surprised it doesn't provide a web interface to ease setup. Oh well, key hole surgery via a number pad it is then!! Alternatively, is it possible to access the installer menu and setup the system via the KP-160 PG2 touch screen keypad?

Boiler in short loop. 1 minute from off to call for heat

Hi, My boiler is in a tight loop between off and calling for heat. Tonight I sat next to it and took the following measurement for Call (when the ignition starts to spark trying to light the pilot), On (when the main burner ignites) and Off (when the main burner goes out). From these...

Why are some lights dimmable and others not?

I'm confused. Maybe if I phrase my question differently: Are all light fittings furnished with 50Watt 240Volt Halogen GU10 bulbs dimmable? (I'm not interested in CFL, LED, Transformers, 12V lights etc...)

Why are some lights dimmable and others not?

For the third time I am looking at GU10 mains voltage fittings. It appears your third response has answered my question and the light should be dimmable. Can anyone else confirm please?
