    Potential Issue with Condensation

Yes. It's for doing woodwork and carpentry so I'll be spending a few hours in there virtually every day.

    Potential Issue with Condensation

Hi Gerald, So with the cold side of the shed, would config. (C) be the best one to go for? I would be heating it during the cold winter months so perhaps I need to take that into account. I am buying a dehumidifier as well.

    Potential Issue with Condensation

So, with the possibility that the Kingspan insulation technician I spoke to is wrong about leaving a gap around the insulation boards, which configuration below would you say is best for reducing moisture/condensations?

    Potential Issue with Condensation

Yes, I've watched that and it's a great idea. I'd totally forgotten about it to be honest.

I'm also going to buy a good dehumidifier (the desiccant type). www.meaco.com/dehumidifier/home-dehumidifiers/meaco-dd8l-junior-dehumidifier-multi-award-winning Been told that will solve a lot of the issues with condensation.

    Potential Issue with Condensation

That's a good idea. I have to be careful though because I'll be using planes, saws, chisels, etc. Any particular brand of oil I should use?

    Potential Issue with Condensation

Hi all, I’m really hoping someone can help me prevent potential condensation problems. Here are the details: I have a single skin breeze block shed for woodworking (so plenty of tools that might rust). Shed measures 6m x 5m. The walls outside are rendered. The roof is flat, made of...

    Digging a Soakaway

I'm just going to dig a channel either side, about 30' down the garden away from the shed and let the water soak into the soil there.

    Digging a Soakaway

Thanks for the reply Notch Do you mean the end part of it has to be 5m away? If not I'm in trouble as there's no way I have that space at the sides. Not sure what you mean by I will only need one soakaway. Won't I need one on either side? Could I get away with just a channel either side...

    Digging a Soakaway

Hi I have got a bit of surface water around the sides of my shed. It's nothing too major but long term it will need sorting out. To do this I'm looking to dig a soakaway. I've included a pic of my back garden and the shed to give you a good idea of what's happening. The plan is to dig a...

    Rain Coming Through Render

Interesting you should say that Woody because at the back of the shed, there's a tree and the wall there is dry. On the wall opposite the wall that's got problems, the wall isn't so exposed to the weather, and that too is dry. Perhaps all I need is some sort of lean-to or something.

    Rain Coming Through Render

No guttering on the sides but it's a fibreglass roof with a raised lip around the sides - and a slope toward the rear where the guttering is.

I'm not sure what SBR is but I did see he was using some waterproof solution (said so on the bottle).

    Rain Coming Through Render

I had my shed rendered last week and since them, we've had a fair bit of heavy rainfall. I checked a few days ago and there are wet patches on one of the newly rendered walls (see pics below) To be fair I haven't gotten around to applying masonry paint yet so is this normal, is this to be...

changed to "rendering a wall for weather protection" (see second post)

We are going to render the walls of my breeze block shed so I'm gathering together the rendering gear required but I'm unsure which steel trowel to go for. I've never done any plastering/rendering before so all I know is I'd like a 14" sized one - but which one specifically, I don't know. I...
