Vokera 20-80 RS Flowmatic - Gas Pressure - Help!

Tony, Yes replaced the 470 micro farad cap which my dad later tested and was functioning OK. Hence my question as which component to try next. Most logical will be diode/brige rectifier I have the option to purchase a replacement PCB if i have no look with individual components...

Vokera 20-80 RS Flowmatic - Gas Pressure - Help!

Can anyone tell me the voltage i should expect across the modulating coil? This way i will know if the rectifying compoents are working correctly. Could it possibly be the relay making the vibrating noise DP? The reason i say this is that when CH is on, sometimes the boiler will fire then...

Vokera 20-80 RS Flowmatic - Gas Pressure - Help!

DP - i was referring to which smoothing component to try next - thats the advice i was after. I would have thought the bridge recetifier as the capacitor has been changed. I'm guessing it could be something else inherrently wrong with the PCB Rob

Back again, The noise is back from the coil area - not as noisey after changing the capacitor. Which components would you change next? rectifiers? Guessing it's just a case of trial and error? Cheers, Rob

Vokera 20-80 RS Flowmatic - Gas Pressure - Help!

Changed the 470 micro farad caopacitor, so will see if it has any affect - not had the vibrating since, but was intermittant before. The voltage across the two terminals on the mod coil changed from around 6V to 10V with the new capacitor fitted. I wonder if the wrong potential difference...

DP, Do you think it's worth changing the capacitor only first, before a new PCB? I am also confused about the talk of 'small PCB'. There is only one i can see from the manual and looking myself which is at the front left under a cover and is about 6" by 4" Do you mean this PCB DP...

Heard the vibrating noise again this morning and temp guage was about 75C When i turned the thermostat for the heat down a touch on the dial on the front of the boiler, the noise goes away. Does this help diagnose?

Vokera 20-80 RS Flowmatic - Gas Pressure - Help!

Just looked at the manual online - i was thinking there was a small PCB behind the mod coil infront of gas valve but there must just be the main PCB and a second one - which is what you recommend changing. Have done some electrical work before so DIY OK? I don't suppose anyone knows a part...

Vokera 20-80 RS Flowmatic - Gas Pressure - Help!

Cheers, Are the PCB's available separately? Any advice where to get them from? Is this something I can strip and fit myself (when isolated) and get a Gas Eng to come and set the gas pressures again? Rob

Vokera 20-80 RS Flowmatic - Gas Pressure - Help!

The main PCB? Why would that have an impact? Oh i presume there is a small PCB which the HW (max and min) flow rates are set on. Can this be bought individually or do i have to buy it part of a unit? Thanks DP

Vokera 20-80 RS Flowmatic - Gas Pressure - Help!

Thanks for your help so far. I had a Corgi Engineer come out and set the max and min gas pressures as per the instruction book and all seemed well. The vibration problem i had before is now back and both the coarse and fine adjustment locknuts are secure. It is the thin brass screw...

Vokera 20-80 RS Flowmatic - Gas Pressure - Help!

Ah Thanks DP So as i adjusted the pressure on the gas valve ( as described above) and when i flicked the heating on momentarily the CH burner pressure had increased so the gas valve (CH) must be reset to 7mbar. As i haven't touched anything else i presume the hot water burner pressure wont...

Vokera 20-80 RS Flowmatic - Gas Pressure - Help!

just another related question... the installer has written 7mbar gas burner pressure on the boiler but the manual says 9.5mbar +/- 0.95mbar. Why would there be a variation? thanks Rob

Vokera 20-80 RS Flowmatic - Gas Pressure - Help!

Any one out there who could give me some advice - would be appreciated. I heard a rattling with my boiler tonight and took the case off. It was the 10mm locknut which holds the gas pressure. I didn't realise this at the time and in tightening the lock nut with my fingers (and not carefully) I...

high water pressure on vokera 20/80 flomatic

DP & Scatmanjohn, Thanks again for your patience and advice. I removed the 3 way valve earlier and did as SMJ said and water (when hot tap opened) did pass a little past the tiny o ring secured in by the plug. Only a small amount, but i can imagine how washing up and a shower a day could...

high water pressure on vokera 20/80 flomatic

Scatmanjohn, You say to remove the donut washer in the tail plate as this plays a part in it. Do you mean remove and replace or just remove. Daft question i'm sure, but that part (the donut washer) is now obselete. Do you know why? Does a replacement come with a new tail plate or is the...

Vokera 20/80 RS Flowmatic DHW Expansion Vessel Pressure

If i get a 3 way valve service kit (or reparer can) is there anyone on here around Wakefield/Leeds who will fit the service kit on my Vokera 20-80 RS Flowmatic? I would prefer someone who knows this boiler well. A rough idea of price would be appreciated and a phone number. Many Thanks Rob

high water pressure on vokera 20/80 flomatic

Hi All, My current understanding is that the primary system pressure (displayed on front of boiler) could not be influenced by using hot water only, so the fact that my system pressure rises without using the central heating could not be down to a leak in the expansion vessel. I've been...
