Air trapped in unvented cylinder coil with X-Plan

Certanly doesn't sound right to me, PDHW is quite common. Can you confirm that the circulation through the HW coil is from top to bottom, top pipe will obviously be hotter than the bottom. Also a photo of the AAV, position on piping etc. What is the boiler pressure?. Does the Gledhill Lite...

    Worcester vs Vaillant vs Gloworm...

I know somebody (UK) that has a ~ 2 year old ecoTEC 630 which has a very, IMO, useful feature, in that it can control the circ pump speed to give a settable (flow/return) dT of 10C to 20C., unfortunately this does not work on this boiler, Vaillant Technical couldn't really offer any fix, except...

    Wireless Doorbell

Yeah, Sensitivity seems to be the name of the game, the mains one will work just outside the window/wall of the outhouse but not inside it, just as well that the battery one works inside it otherwise I'd have to knock a wall down.

    Wireless Doorbell

Yes, thats the only reason for my post, the battery one works fine in the outhouse but the mains one does not.

    Wireless Doorbell

Posting this here even though I'm not in the UK, it might get a bigger audience! I recently installed a BYRON DBY-223548S wireless door bell (CR2032 button battery) with two "chimers", one is mains powered, the other is powered by 3 AA batteries. I have one installed in the house, it doesn't...

    Radiator 'whooshing noise'

The Drayton RT212 do have a bit of a reputation for noisy operation, how true this is, I don't know Anyhow check out your pump data. If its on Auto, then yes, one would expect it to be controlled by the boiler output so it will be interesting to see what D.015 reads, if, for eaxmple, it reads...

    Low pressure on shower

You could turn the shower temperature setting to maximum and the combi DHW temperature setting to minimum, say around 35C?, and see if the flowrate is "normal", at least that might show that the flowrate from the combi and through the shower is OK.

    Radiator 'whooshing noise'

A TRV setting of 6 and even 5 should correspond to a room temperature well over 25C so seems as if they are full open execept you have exceptionally warm rooms, what model Draytons?. I have my 8 (EPH) set between 2 and 2.8 to give ~ 17C to 20C room temps. What exact model Vaillant boiler do...

    DANFOSS TRVs - flow rates

If you reduce the flow temperature to 70C then YOU must also reduce the flowrate "manually" (via pump speed), TRV control reduces the flowrate ONLY which means the return temperature reduces, the flow temperature remains the same but the mean rad temperature reduces = reduced rad output. (Row...

    Baxi 105e pump noise

Thats a massive pump at 110W for a 6M pump, (45/60W would be more normal) if its running at full speed then I would expect a faif bit of noise but it may be controlled by the boiler depending on the output.

    Baxi 105e pump noise

Your old pump was noisy as well, any idea of what setting the new pump is on and make/model if available , or/and details of your old pump.

    Boiler leak, engineer can't find

If you are not topping up the boiler regularly then well more than likely that its a condensate leak, probably from the drain pipe or maybe its blocked, can you see where the condensate drains off?, does the leakage stop when the boiler is off/.

    DANFOSS TRVs - flow rates

    That's correct, If you use Danfoss's result of 12LPH, 12/60, 0.2LPM then from kW=LPM*60*dT/860, = 0.2*60*20/860, 0.28kW, 280W (Wrong)

    DANFOSS TRVs - flow rates

Well, @Johntheo5 will provide you my own 60 year old formula which must have been wrong for all this time but nobody noticed!!. I work in LPM and kW but no problem.... (1000W=1.0kW) LPM = kW*860/60/dT. = 1*860/60/20, 0.717LPM, 0.717*60, 43LPH.

Hot water demand but big delay in flame kicking in.

Have you established if it has Warmstart and switched it off?. Is there any indicating LED on the boiler display to show that DHW has been requested and if so, does it immuminate when a hot tap is opened? Also when you do manage to get it running in DHW mode can you then change the temperature?

    Heat exchanger possibility?

You might also consider installing a EV isolation&drain valve, saves draining/partially draining down the system to check the pre charge pressure or for trouble shooting, you do have a nice little water reserve of 1.29L with pre/fill pressures of 0.3/0.4 bar but your attic rad will quickly start...

multibloc inlet valve connected up wrong

From a safety point of view, even though the T&PRV is the main "safety valve" the expansion relief valve will lift first but there shouldn't be a NRV between it and the cylinder inlet even though the NRV will open to allow it to lift. You say "The balanced cold is feeding the cylinder, with the...

multibloc inlet valve connected up wrong

I think those two schematics are from a Kingspan link. Some combinations valves incorporate a (the) NRV between the pressure reducing valve and the expansion relief valve and the EV is conndected to that blanked port directly below the expansion relief valve which probably what the lower...

    Heat exchanger possibility?

Yes, try that anyway, should be fine as long as 0.4/0.5 bar is sufficient to push the diaphragm back home against the water end, there must be some resistance from the diaphragm as its only shoved into the EV like a baloon, some come with the diaphragm in the middle of the EV I think.
