    Slating query

Right, i`ve just found out the slates on the job will be 500x250. Also the required headlap is 90 mm. Now, the thing i can`t get my head round is. The slates come pre holed at 300mm, which as far as i can fathom would give a gauge of 200mm. but if i were to use the formula of: Slate -...

Dodgy Roofing Job/Cowboy - Advice Needed!

http://www.bpindex.co.uk/manf.html?id=740 I`ve personally never used them, but i believe that is supposed to be a very good solid way of replacing single slates. Copper wire is the easiest and quickest "neat" way of doing the job, can just get a little unsightly if doing a large number of...

Dodgy Roofing Job/Cowboy - Advice Needed!

looks like hes just lead strapped them in place. Although work should be water proofed, it does look shoddy, and doesn`t take long to match up existing slates at a local roofing firm.

    Uneven Verge solutions

    Uneven Verge solutions

My mother lives in an end terrace house and it follows the layout of the road, which unfortunatley is not 90 degrees. The rear right hand verge runs back in on its self from the ridge line down to the eaves, and as it is a slate roof, water runs straight off the edge and down the wall. Im...

    Hand Cutting Plain tiles
