You might have spent a lot of money for a blocked pilot injector. Rectification is (believe it or not) when you put an AC current to a flame. The flame carries the current changes it to DC and is picked up by the flame sensor. Simple and effective flame failure device.

That could be your problem. no pilot no rectification no boiler!

When you open the front cap on the pump you may get a dribble. If the boiler is empty it wont fire due to no pressure. Dont fire a dry boiler!!! They can go bang literally.

Don't forget to isolate and drain the boiler before you open the pump. Thinking of which.... are the flow and return taps open?

You dont have to replace it, try checking it first, When the boiler is cool top up the system, turn down the radiator temp on the boiler, start it and remove the screw on the front of the pump it should spin, if it does you will have to disconnect the 240V nasty stuff, remove the pump head if...

Fernox f4 tends to provide a permanent repair to small weeps etc. It solidifies when it is hot and wet and comes in contact with air. I've never known this stuff cause problems on systems.
