    ASHP Holiday Mode £££?

I think the mistake I made was trusting 'Holiday Mode'. Generally, the system has been really economical, but I usually set the temperature manually, depending on how blue my wife's toes are. Maybe next time we go away I'll empty the freezer and shut the entire house down! Actually, it would be...

    Sewer pipe air vent question

Ah, well in both locations our house has been 50s or 60s built, detached and with designated drains, so maybe that's why I got away with such a simple measure. Good to know!

    ASHP Holiday Mode £££?

Heck! I put my ASHP on 'Holiday Mode' because we were... on holiday. I put the temp on 10°C and long-pressed the suitcase icon until the display showed 'Holiday Mode'. Anyway, turns out I was charged MORE for the two weeks we were away (£39) than the following two weeks when all appliances were...

    Sewer pipe air vent question

We had a through-roof vent on our stack pipe and sewer gas wafted in through our bathroom window like Bisto when the wind blew in a certain direction, so I cut the pipe down to 1m above the upstairs loo and bunged an AAV in there (it terminated in the eaves). Anyway, that was 4 years ago and I...

LH / RH shower tray confusion!

I'm 99.9% certain that the tray in the pic is LH. Can anyone give me the final 0.1% before I order? Thanks!

Stick to 4" and you can put a dog leg in if you need to. Hope you signed that picture!

    Sewer pipe air vent question

I've used AAVs in two properties with no issues at all. As long as the air admittance valve is securely attached and is at least 1m above the highest appliance, it should be fine. I'm not a plumber though!

LH / RH shower tray confusion!

Wow! Such a simple one, but the online images of shower trays have totally thrown me! The same image of the same offset quadrant shower tray appears on several different sites, but whereas some describe it as LH (left handed) others say the opposite? Please help me! I'm starting to think that...

    Pathway Slabs on driveway

Bearing in mind that no driveway is ever maintenance-free, I'd always go for compacted MOT Type 1 and stone chippings to finish. I've tried them all! Lol

    Shower tray recommendation?

I've fitted multiple shower trays in the past, but this time I'm striving for perfection! All the trays I've fitted to date have had the same problem in that water sits on the flat edge where the enclosure and the tray meet. This water dries after a while of course, but it annoys me! It's a...

    Pathway Slabs on driveway

Paving slabs aren't really made to support vehicles, but I guess you could use them... with the right preparation! I'm afraid there's no 'quick fix' here. Personally, I would pull them all up and start from scratch. You'd need at least 4" of compacted MOT Type 1 as a base, and you'd need to...
