    Makita DCS5030 ?

I've got a Makita chainsaw and have no problems with it. As you say, it's more powerfull than the Stihl and cheaper, they are made by Dolmar in Germany who invented the chainsaw. I've got a Stihl brushcutter that needed a new ignition pack after 18 months, so nothing is perfect.[/u]

    Correct wrench/pliers for the job?

I'll try to flesh it out a bit; instead of using pipe grips or a rubber covered pair of pliers, use a spanner of the correct size on the bridge between the threads. You may find that that lets you tighten the fitting correctly as it takes up less room than pliers.

No point in buying a Miele

Try contacting Miele head office in germany, [email protected] and complain to them. I was getting no response to a complaint about a certain German tool maker from their French importers, so emailed the company direct and the proverbial hit the fan, it was sorted immediately.

    Jigsaw (??) for Kitchen worktop.

The Bosch 135 that you suggested will cut 40mm tops straight and vertical, use a new Bosch blade for each cut. It's the best, most accurate jigsaw I've ever owned.

Roy Hodgson for the England job?

They could make Anne Widdicombe the manager for all the difference it will make, it used to be an honour to play for your country, now they see it as a nuisance, due to the risk of injury and potential loss of earnings, or maybe they'd rather be on holiday.
