Wee addition , Ferroli Technical guys had never heard of it and suggested the thermistors changed as we all know these are a weak point. Original fault was boiler occasionally switching itself on and unexplained lockouts........ another engineer changed the main board before I got there...

Replaced loads of PCBs on this range and the boys are right, it sure sounds like a new PCB, random crap like that is nearly always that big box of replacement chassis and pcb , wires everything!!

Ive come across this before and its usually down to the bobbin ( the plastic bit in the service kit) getting choked or not sealing front or back depending if on heating or hot water i.e the O ring on the back of the bobbin coming off or not sealing properly . Take it out and check its assembly...

Sounds like the thermocouple is cooling when the main flame fires, probably caused by a poor pilot flame i.e crap in the pilot jet . Get it serviced, mention your problem, any good CORGI engineer should sort it.

Cant agree with ChrisR enough, dont meddle with gas stuff unless you are qualified, accidents with gas usually mean fire , explosions etc.and insurance companies just love you coz they dont have to pay out to rebuild your house.

Sounds like the ignition isnt firing , the click is probably the oil solenoid opening allowing oil to the jet but then if you allowed the filter to be clogged by crap from the bottom of the tank then it may well be the oil not getting to the jet and the ignition is firing but no oil to light...

Its probably the pilot coming off the thermocouple when main flame fires up, usually due to a poor or partially blocked pilot , either way its a CORGI engineers job to repair. Thermocouple cools as pilot comes off it and shuts down the gas valve. Good luck....
