controlling large domestic system with Honeywell HR80 TRV

Mainly retrofitting, - will have to do a little re-piping to create the two new zones but that's a simple cut here and join there plus about four meters of pipe and - there are a two locations where pipe sizes are to small - 1 x 15mm, before complex joint (1 in 3 out). ought to be 22mm...

controlling large domestic system with Honeywell HR80 TRV

Alec1, surely any TRV could cause that as they could all shut down once up to temp especially in a small installation.

controlling large domestic system with Honeywell HR80 TRV

These wireless TRV’s are used on a number of Honeywell systems such as Hometronic. The System controller tells the HR80 what temp at what time and the HR80 manages the demand to the boiler controller accordingly. I’m looking to control a large domestic system that covers 8 ground floor rooms...

Looking for advice on boiler control.

Interference with 868MHz should be very low, I believe that all are digital in that any signals carried include an identifying message id so that interference should not occur. End user terminology that relates to this is "bonding" where the two ends are configured for who they will communicate...

    LLH required?

Believe that its rather better than a halfway house, each TRV can be in a group which may be just one room or a group of rooms. so you can configure a nice solution. I think you can hang a XYZ plan off of a control port on the Homeplan so would have thought unvented was not an issue but.... If...

    LLH required?

Thought you did not need TRV's in a room if you had a controlling thermostat in that room or have the targets moved again? Proposition seems to be Tstat + zone valve per room. Re Programable TRV's quite a difference between Evohome and iTemp. Evohome is a full control system where each HR80...

Looking for advice on boiler control.

Whilst an apparently ideal candidate, and perhaps Green Deal things have moved on a bit, but when first launched there did seem to be lots of questions around the real costs. Initial survey, seems big boys do the work and companies such as BG are not especially known for their reasonable...

    Wooden gate

Only things for me that stand out are - 1" sounds a bit thick for the gate cladding but then you know what the gate is holding in/out. - I'd consider using 2" x 4" as both posts are against solid walls and you'd gain 4" on walk through width. Nothing wrong with 4x4 solution though.

    Are SEDBUK ratings meaningful?

Sorry, long and heavy.. Found this, http://www.boilers.org.uk/pages/sap2009.htm which provides a very broad overview, i.e tells you about it but...no real detail. FULL BURN is mentioned as being a data source for calculations. but as with all things its gov't implemented based upon EU...

    Are SEDBUK ratings meaningful?

Well, seems I touched a point of sensitivity here Thanks all for you feedback. :-) So historically, results based upon extremely unrealistic test methodology, seemingly with a high probability of being unable to complete the full test duration. :? Recent energy indicators based upon same...

    Are SEDBUK ratings meaningful?

I am interested to find out more about how the SEDBUK rating is achieved/awarded. Things like : 1/. How long is the test period and what does it involve: I gather the 46kw Vaillant Ecotec + HE boiler always has a full burn for the first hour of firing, so how does it achieve a 90.5%...

Vaillant weather comp - lower heating curve = less gas used?

Alec, what I meant to convey was :- despite the manual control setting the WB boiler appears to be modulating the flow temperature of its own accord, with only a simple on/off controller. :) Having looked at the WB "gas boiler wiring guide", it would appear that for any configuration all the...
