    Boiler won't switch off

sorry for late reply. your sketch is correct though the mains live to boiler goes via the supply side of the second spur if that makes any odds. If I switch off second fused spur I can then turn boiler off via on/off knob (all neons go off) and the programmer display then goes blank(though...

    Boiler won't switch off

I've just fitted a new Worcester 30 cdi system boiler at home. It's an S plan system controlled by a programmer, wired room stat, cylinder stat and two Honeywell zone valves. It's up and running without any problems and responding to all controls but the on/off switch on the boiler itself...

Relocating my boiler - few questions

Gaspro1981 is trying to deliberately wind you up. Any decent Corgi installer will come and sign off the paperwork after you have completed the work. Some will even send you the paperwork without seeing the job. They would probably just ask you to answer a few simple questions though first. Like...

Relocating my boiler - few questions

No.You are spot on. Just move your flue three feet to the right and reconnect the water and gas pipes. You could do it yourself or get a Corgi in who would probably do it in an hour and charge about £50 max plus give you the relevant paperwork. Just a tip, if you're going to do it yourself make...

Should I ask for a new meter?

Thought you were going to mention the Chint board. No,it wasn't my choice but it was better than what was there before. Does anyone know- can you use CPN mcb's in these? Am told they will fit and my local electrical factors don't have Chint.

Should I ask for a new meter?

E-on recently came out and fitted a mains isolator between my meter and my new board. There was a problem with one of the terminals on the outlet side of the meter -I think it was knackered and I noticed he has run one of the tails directly from the mains fuse to the isolator. Is this ok?

    Cold Water Tank washers?

Your tank connectors are not under high pressure.they are under gravity pressure. Just use polywashers-take your fitting to the plumbers merchants if you're not sure of the size you want.

water pipe inlet route to loo. HELP

I also have my BPEC certification for Water Regs. I earn a living from plumbing. I have never caused any damage to someone's home by faulty workmanship. I care about the standard of my work. But if you can honestly say you have NEVER infringed the water regs then I am amazed. Do...

water pipe inlet route to loo. HELP

I DO care about quality of work. That said I would not have any nightmares about the occasional use of a compression fitting in a concealed place when the situation warranted it. It is no big deal,it does not define someone as a cowboy and I know my joint would NOT leak. Certainly not...

Worthy sentiments I'm sure. But I'm sorry to say you are clearly not living in the real world. You are living in the unreal world of the text book.

Central heating pump fitted under floorboards with isolating gate valves anybody? Compression connections! BIV shower valve plastered over then tiled? Compression connections. You see it all the time and for one good reason- because the installer HAS NO CHOICE. YOU have a choice. If you...

water pipe inlet route to loo. HELP

Your pedantry is to be admired. I am not trying to score points but how do you know that the compression fitting he was going to use was not dezincification resistant? In which case water regs say no problem! PS I have a sense of humour!

water pipe inlet route to loo. HELP

yes I have. And it says that NO pipe fitting should be concealed in a duct or inside a wall where maintenab=nce etc would be made difficult. Is your soldered fitting not a fitting then?
