if you are that bothered if there is inhibitor in your system just put some more in, it wont cause any harm and will cost you less than £20

what i would do is take the front off, and on the left hand side you will see a plastic thing with a load of wires connected to it, thats the diverter and they are prone to sticking. whack it with a screwdriver a good few hard hard times until your dhw pipe starts runnin hot

hw should be prority and should spring back there when your heating is off so if your ch is working fine then the valve is maybe just stuck and possibly be freed. either that or the clock maybe faulty or the cyl stat maybe faulty

an at risk situation only requires the engineer to turn off the appliance not isolate it from the gas. he should have told your mother in law that the appliance if used could be dangerous but it is up to her if she wanted to use it. it was obviously passing flue flow and spillage tests.

i think the replacement fans for ideal classics, you need to add some wire yourself as theyve moved a connection on the coil to the other side and the old wire doesnt reach.. am i right??

well i doubt u will need both, if there isnt any power to the gas valve while its sparking then u probably need a new pcb, if there is power to the gas valve when it its sparking then u may need a new gas valve but it could be a blocked pilot injector or even simplar - a tripped quantum...

did u try swapping the thermistors connerctions over

oh no sorry i know how these work and they fire up before it detects a flow on the ch but if it hasnt detected a flow in 10secs it shuts off so even if ya ch flowswitch or ya pump was had it it would still fire up

so ya ch flow switch is knackered?

how long has it been on before it starts banging? if its been on a while maybe the thermostat isnt cutting it off causing it to overheat

i cant picture the inside of the boiler but if its anything like the genesis try swapping the connections over between the hw and ch thermistors (thats if it the same setup which if it aint ignore this!)

have you put your heating on and tried it, have you tried getting air out of the vent in your airing cupboard? other than that it could be a blockage in your cold feed

thereis a common fault with suprima boards that happens to them.you get this, when it cuts down on the boiler stat or room stat it doesnt come back on and you have to reset it all the time.

if it isnt working it wont motor over. if it has been changed before the screw for the head will be facing you so engineers can change the synchron without taking the whole thing out first, otherwise the screw is facing up right under the expansion vessel making it impossible to get at. it needs...

it wont be a neutral wire, connect either one to common and it should tell you on the back where to connect the other one, if you turn the stat up and the boiler goes off and vice versa youve got it in the wrong place, just change it

check a gate valve on the return pipe from your cylinder coil isnt partially shut off
