    Boiler Running Query

A modern boiler would be a worthwhile investment and reduce your bills in my opinion.

Condensate trap for bathroom extractor fan

We insisted that our fitter drilled a hole through the brick wall and fitted the conduit through that.

    Toilet brush holder replacement

I can recommend the Silicone wall mounted brush. I’d comes with a strong double sided mount. Doesn’t take up much space, looks good and is hygienic.

Mains USB charger for small devices ???

Think of a 240v socket in your house. It can provide any current from 0 to 13A without you having to worry about it. Presumably, you don't get paranoid when you plug in Christmas tree lights or a fan heater in the SAME socket!

    Clock radio sound quality

I've found the Azatom sound quality, including bass, better than average for a small DAM radio. The I-Star in our bathroom is small and great but I note that it's no longer current, so the SoloB1 seems the equivalent.

Vaillant eco tec 615 system boiler losing pressure

I’ve concluded that Vaillant went through a bad time 8-12 years ago and their boilers during that window have more faults than the norm.

    Stopcock handle broken

I’d save up until you can get a plumber to freeze the pipe and fit a new tap.

WD40 on TRV pin or not?

Lubricant won’t work. Use a very small mallet to repeatedly tap the pin until it springs out. Long term don't screw down the TRV unless you are prepared to open it every couple of months.

    Recommended strimmer head

I could not use anything other than a metal blade.

    Toilet seat removal

Looks like a Geberit. Close seat and use Allen key behind the pin. I turned mine round to make access easier.

Gap between paving and gravel board

    I’d use pea gravel

    Dash Cam recommendation

Fitted an Anker Roav C1 five years ago to my Ioniq. Very happy with it. Wiring was straight forward... The rubber door seal was the most difficult part as it needs plying back with the supplied crowbar but it eventually went it. I almost routed the cable under the glove box but like the OP I...

    Strimming safely and what cord?

I use a metal blade as I have to deal with heavy vegetation. Standard Stihl head protection used and gloves.

    Vailant error codes

I had a Vaillant gas failure code. I reset the boiler, it fired up and the error didn’t come back.

    Which Vaillant/Glowworm?

I had a bad experience with my 8 year old Ecotec but the later models appear to be more reliable.

    Shower install on combi boiler

Hans Grohe and Combi works great for us.

    PHEV charging question.

We’ve owned an Ioniq PHEV since 2019 and it’s been great. 30 mile range on battery which means all our local trips and then 600 mile hybrid range for longer trips. Long term would not like to use the granny charger. Had a tethered charger fitted when we bought it.
