Thanks
But is that a power flush, or a chemical flush? That's what I don't understand...
We've got the warranty - all been signed off with Worcester. Just don't want to have issues down the line and then worcester say 'Sorry, but...'
I think the plan is to see if we can fix the old rads...
Hi
We're half way through a major extension, with a new boiler/HWC etc installed.
Some of the old rads were cold in the middle etc; all indications a power flush was needed.
We've a new Worcester 37CDi installed. The heating engineer didn't power flush on installing the new boiler, but...
Yeah I saw the height - I'm guessing it'll be okay under a drainer, rather than a sink itself.
Course, the non electric ones are smaller; would that be the way forward? I'm sure we can make an electric one fit if necessary

Hi
We’re wanting to put in a Water Softener once we’ve extended the kitchen.
We live in the Chilterns, so have very hard water. There are the obligatory four of us in a four bed detached, with one bath and two separate showers. Water flow will be ~22 litres per minute (new 32mm pipe...
yeah, we used to have a unvented cylinder at the last house; however we now have a much larger house, with much higher ceilings. Having just spent a winter freezing, we need all the heating we can get.
we've not specified one as yet, but I'd like something with about 17 litres per minute. Probably over specced for 1 bath/2 shower, but better safe than sorry (although I know it'll struggle to do both together)
Cheers Pete; great answer, and just what I was after.
And Dan, thanks for the response. Have thought about that to be honest, but with a nice new lovely combi it should be provide enough waterflow (the pressure is pretty good, despite being at the top of the hill).
ta both
oh I appreciate everything's possible with cash; just wondered if you knew of any building regs etc that would restrict it for a reasonable amount of money; 20ft long flues for instance
Thanks Pete
Here's some of the plans; as you can see the void is large, and there shouldn't be an opening window near by
there would be an opening to the void under the large window, and hopefully the boiler exhaust could come out of the cutback to the kitchen area (the wall that's...
hi
we're having a side extension built, with an extended kitchen and dining area.
Due to the sloping nature of the site, there will be a void under the dining area of about 3.4m * 3m with a head height of about 1.65m. I'd like to use this space, and thought about moving the boiler from...
is that 1.2m specced by an engineer just for one solid wall or the total rise of a stepped wall?
And hopefully there won't be too much spoil, as we've the area to backfill, and even with a stepped wall we should be gaining about 400sq ft.
thanks
cool. thanks. Got someone coming around tomorrow actually to quote, but one builder we had round ages ago (and no quote) thought it would be dead easy, and take about a week, even with the correct drainage, steps etc etc
