    depends on age of existing pipework as to wether you keep it on a sealed system, cos if they are old and get it power flushed as it should be with a new boiler install, bad joints could be exposed and leaks pop up all over!!! as to copper or plastic...... too many installers use the wrong...

    nearly all combi's suffer hot water issues when it gets quite cold out and the water temperatures fall dramatically, it's just the way they work!! but,.. if its getting worse than in previous years then the plate heat exchanger could be getting restricted and needs replacing or cleaning out!!

    best bet is to get someone to replace the prv cos if you keep pressurizing the boiler with fresh water it's not going to take long before your system starts reacting and producing slugde(magnetite), then your problems will start.

    follow the cold inlet pipe into the boiler(make sure electric and water are isolated--!!!) that will lead you to flow switch. these types of switches normally only require to be cleaned out as the magnet inside gets built up with deposits but either way cheap part, easy job
