28mm zone valve, for gravity hot water. Extra wire?

Sounds like they've ignored the grey and orange. They've taken the boiler straight off the prog along with the feed to the cyl stat and then to the MV. It works, but not correctly, and will allow the boiler to continue to fire.

28mm zone valve, for gravity hot water. Extra wire?

You're confusing me now! What does this have to do with the original topic. Now you say you have a 22mm 2 port, but fully pumped. Are you using a single channel programmer or one that provides separate hw / ch switching?

28mm zone valve, for gravity hot water. Extra wire?

Exactly, but not providing a boiler interlock. Hence, the boiler will continue to cycle, wasting fuel.

28mm zone valve, for gravity hot water. Extra wire?

The white wire provides the link between the boiler and pump for when the valve isn't energised to keep the boiler running when the cylinder stat is satisfied. This is so the boiler and pump continue to run if heating is selected. Give me 5 mins and I will provide a diagram.

    combi query

Going to be hard pushed for a 700mm high combi. Don't forget you also need clearances that MUST be adhered to. Usually 200mm above and below.

ravenheat ls80 wont fire up properly?!?!

Doubtful it's the thermistor. Sounds like an aps/venturi (do they have a venturi??) problem. Failing that, pcb.

Baxi Solo 2 PF 60 solenoid problem

tbh Agile, it will 99% be the gas valve. But if the customer is supplying, the labour goes up a touch to compensate.

    Help with boiler quotes please!

I used to be 39298, took a year off and came back 192644. I feel I've lost my mojo! My old man was below 1000 iirc.

    No more Gas Re-sits!

Well, I'm due to re-sit mine in November. Cheerio £1000 plus loss of time. Knowing my luck it'll be abolished in December! TBH, this is the first I've heard this.

Worcester Gas condensing boiler R25 HE (4 Years old)

Almost certainly a perforated DHW heat exchanger. Good idea to change the PRV and check the EV air pressure also. Oh, first of all, disconnect the filling loop to check it's not letting by.

Am I better off buying the boiler myself?

Absolutely bengasman, but I still advocate that gas appliances and parts should only be available to RGIs. Joe public can see the prices, work out our profits and take on a bit of DIY or get it fitted for cash. This is why I name my price, and never cut my own throat just to get the work...

Worth a try, the way you describe the symptoms, it really does sound like you have attached the primary microswitch to the to the DHW housing and vice-versa. I just cant see how changing a couple of diaphragms gives this problem. You confirm that when you open a hw tap the pin comes out...

Do I bite the bullet and go for a Combi?

I closed my father's business in 1998 when he died. Her indoors is a northerner and dragged me kicking and screaming all the way up the M1. Christ, I might even know you lot :D Went to Portchester school and Poole College. My mother still lives in Talbot Woods. And yes, I do miss all the...

Changing Boiler Timer - Is this safe - Pics included?

They aren't on a Baxi. But there is a cover that screws on over the clock housing.

Do I bite the bullet and go for a Combi?

I agree with you there in some cases. However, mains pressure around here is generally very good. This equates to great showering from a combi. In the north of the country, nearly all houses have a direct system of cold supply and the higher pressures to support it. However, I came up from...

Do I bite the bullet and go for a Combi?

Yes that is the day I get called. Existing customers always take priority. I always look after my own installations. Oh, and Zetland in Yorkshire isn't that far. Infact, I could be in N. Yorkshire in 15 minutes. Also, that is precisely why zetland76 should select boiler and...
