Just read what mogget has said. He is correct. With your method, you will get feedback up the orange wire, down the grey, and into the brown, which in turn will open the valve when it shouldn't.

The grey remains live 24/7, 365 days a year. The brown on the MV connects to heating on via the roomstat. The brown then opens the valve, that is all. When the valve is open, a switch inside makes the grey to the orange. Orange then sends the signal to the boiler.
