Thanks, but I forgot to mention that I used re-seating tool on the first basin - no luck.

It's happened twice now. Leaking hot tap, changed washer, leaking hot tap still ! Am in moderate lime scale area. Last time I tried I replaced the whole tap assembly for a new one - don't want to do this on this particularly basin. Help please
