if you have the prob on CH and hot water then i doubt its down to the diverter assembly (that is what i determine as the difff pressure switch) and am unfortunatley at the limit of my (limited) knowledge. sorry  The topguns will have an idea though. ..........danger...

the gauge indicates primary\system pressure (or ch pressure if you want) and the switch you have dismantled and checked etc sounds, to me like the differential pressure switch. have you got normally operating HW? or CH? BTW - I am an apprentice and do the dog work until a pro (like...

    Anybody completed NVQ2 (plumbing&heating)?

Has anyone completed this course (C&G 61291 scheme) recently. I need (i'd like) to know if you had to supply photocopies of the pipework tasks or just a copy of the classroom based TechCert certificate? heres hoping :D

The boiler wont (not designed to) switch off at 70 degrees, it will just maintain a constant 70degrees flow temp and as you say the room stat will determine the switching on&off (unless there is a boiler fault which will trigger the safety\high limit stat.)

    Poor Hot Water Flow Upstairs

The higher the cold water storage cistern, the greater the pressure. To determine the expected pressure you would have to measure from the base of the tank to the heaight of whatever tap outlet (1 meter = 0.1bar) You may have badly designed/installed hot water distrubution pipework, the...

    Leaking Pipework

Baxi 130 HE Combi..CH not hot enough.

I though flow on a condenser was more like 72 (55 return) compared to the non-condensing boiler flow of 82, return 72 :? :? go on rip me apart :D

    Leaking Pipework

This is no help whatsoever but the company that i work for will not install a pressurised CH circuit on a system with pipes in a concrete floor (due to the problem that you may now have), they insist on new 'drops' to downstairs rads etc. You may have to dig the floor up or have new drops...

    cold radiator problem continues

Turn the all rads off apart from the problem one, if it starts heating up and working ok then you can at least disgard a blockage\crushed pipe etc, if it does work start opening other rads one by one (15mins apart) and see the effect on the problem rad if it immediatly cools when opening one...

    Standpipe Height

i must have been looking at the max CH output when i stated 24kw. .. so does nominal mean inside diameter then? sorry for hijack this is my last post on this thread :D

    Standpipe Height

so 'nominal' means inside diameter (i'm looking at one of thoses nice charts in a book).

    Standpipe Height

I'm confused :? Ecotec = 24kw = 80ft/hr gas rate. say the steel run was 12m (6m + fittings) of 20mm steel pipe = 160ft/hr and 1.5m of 15mm copper plus 3 fittings say 3m of 15mm= 2.9m\hr(around 100ft/hr) so if the pipe is 20mm nominal does that mean that it is indeed correct...

    Boiler

Are you saying the central heating is ok and all the hot water does not work at any of the taps? I'm not going to be much help but the more info given the more likly that you will get one of the pros on here to sort your prob
