Sorry guys but this is going well over my head now. Today is offically no heating day in Belgium, (wife will be pleased) going to try and increase the size of the inlet pipework to the pump, this seems the cheapest way before buying a new pump and I got to get the pipework anyway, if this...

here's a good one for you!!!!!

DOITALL: the pump is set to the lowest speed No1 as seen thru the spy hole, this pump used to run 2 x 53Kw boilers in tandem, it is now only running one boiler of 53Kw which is big enough for the whole house. Grundfos tell me that the correct size pump should be the UPS 32-55 giving 1.15L/s and...

Ok guys just had a look at the pipework where the new pump will go, got to change the flanges and as it's all iron pipe gonna be difficult getting the right lengths to fit. Any reason why I can't use copper pipe, say from the 1.5" bsp to 28mm copper or better still what size would you...

OK guys the new pump is on order, takes 2 days to travel 25km, but thats Belgium for you. 308 Euros about the same price as i could get it for in the UK. So there'll be no more news until Weds afternoon when it should be fitted. Onetap: take on board what you say about the pressure vessel...

here's a good one for you!!!!!

Just throttled back the pump outlet valve to halfway if i close it anymore the noise gets louder, the metallic noise has quietened but not gone, i have reduced the boiler temp to 65c hoping that will help slightly, pressure gauge is good as it drops when bleeding and rises when filling so i...

PTH: Just spoken to Grunfos and they say the pump is too big for just running a 53Kw boiler, they are recommending the UPS32-55 pump giving 1.15L/s as opposed to the one i have now which is 2.7L/s, would like you thoughts on this before i go running out to buy a new pump Thanks for your...

here's a good one for you!!!!!

OK guys looks like I got a whole day in front of the boiler :-) Onetap: what you say makes sense to me but there are some differences, layout: Boiler, pump, cold feed (top up), expansion tank. With boiler burner off pump has an overun of 10 mins so water cools quickly but the noise still...

here's a good one for you!!!!!

Thanks for the input so far, here's some more info based on your comments. Can't see any signs of the system being an old gravity system, ie no old tank in the attic or pipework leading to that sort of thing, or any signs of capping off. System tempreture at the boiler is set to 70C is...

here's a good one for you!!!!!

Just a quick thought, what if the pump is way over size for the job, would this make noise, when TRV's are opened there is quite a loud rushing noise from the valve. Too much pump pressure? Seems that everything is way oversize for the job, 2 boilers at 53Kw each running in tandem, now only...

the noise is like a buzzing noise, can be heard all over the house, in the boiler room the pump sounds like it has some stones or grit in it but when disconnected fom the pipework it runs silent. I have bled the whole system taking some 20 gallons of water out and replacing with the loop at the...

    EPDM question

Hi Anyone used EPDM roofing system? Do you glue both parts ie the EPDM and the material it goes onto? Is the glue flexible so you can make adjustments when laying? Is this a good system to use instead of the old fashioned and very expensive Zinc sheets? Thanks for any help
