I agree with this, espesially the satin finish if you want more of a sheen.

Best thing to do is to hire one. They have nice big steamer plates not like the silly little ones you see in the DIY shops. You should not damage the plaster if you do not hold them onto the surface for too long. Make sure you keep the plate moving, ask in the hire shop if you are not sure...

I'd have a room finished before most decorators had thought about putting their overalls on. That's if I was doing it - which I'm not. You may as well, youv got it all sussed out. :lol:

I have just looked at a new job. Pretty straight forward painting but in a cafe kitchen there is a largish area on ceiling above an industrial toaster which has gone brown. Should I use a coat of Alkali resisting primer before emulsion. It doesn't apear to be greasy.

Once I just finnished papering a wall, my ladder was perched on a platform, it slipped off and I crashed into the wall I had just papered tearing a series of little holes in it, luckily it was embossed paper which was going to be painted, I got my caulking gun out and dissapered out of the house...

Just out of curiosity, (yes I know it killed the rat, sorry cat,) how long did it take the cage to rust, if it took 5 years I would forget all the worry about repainting and just buy a new cage, because I understand by the year 2012 it will be ilegal to even use oil based paint . So you wont...
