    sounds ok. is there a socket next to the heaters to use ? if you are going to use an extension lead, check its' rating, many are rated at 5A or 10A i presume you are just going to test them for a short while to make sure they work. hope this helps

    if you can get to the cable feeding the existing light, you can connect in a junction box then a cable down to a new switch and a cable to the new lights. it may be easier have a look at the sticky at the begining of the forum for comon lighting circuit arrangements.

    Hi Andrew looks like quite an old installation you have there. I would suggest getting it tested by a qualified sparky. Are you in the uk ? the sockets look european. as the lights once worked and have since stopped, you really need to know why, replacing the fuses could put a fault back on...

    you will hava a problem as there will not be a neutral at the switch. the cable at the switch will contain only a live and switchwire. do you want all lights to be switched at the same time ?
