They are colour coded no?, Red live, blue neutral, green white , ground?.

I did also change the fuses in those sockets, the top one had a 5 amp, and the bottom one 13 amps I switched them round but didn't change anything. The outside cable had 5 internal wires 1 live, 2, earth, 2 neutrals.

Could it be the black cable we have put into the other neutral, on back of floodlight as it did trip before we did this, and now nothing. Will have to take cables out and see if fan/light works without it.

Yes it did, but now I get nothing, also when I connected it up I turned all the switches on the consumer unit off including the rcd.

Sorry not sure what mcb is?, The consumer unit tripped twice and both times it was the socket switch that tripped, have replaced fuses in both those sockets but now I don't get anything, the socket with the switch controls a fan/light in conservatory, and we are presuming the fused socket below...

I have now sorted this, it was my key that had worn so much it wouldn't work in the lock. Got a new key made £8.82 and now works first time.

Sorry to bring this thread from the dead but am having the same problem in that my key doesnt open my bonnet. I have read the detailed description above, and he states about opening it from the inside of then car, how do you get to the bonnet lock from the inside?

How do you take these plugs out?, they seem to be hard wired?.

Not sure what your problem is, yes I got the volts wrong by a typing error I also say is there a switch on the psu, and as to how this relates to the op if he has blown his psu he simply needs to buy a psu and not a whole new computer :) pull your head in mate.

Sounds like you have blown your psu, is there a switch on the psu (red) this alters the current between 210/240 volts if you get this wrong your in trouble computer should be ok just need new psu.
