    Part Qualified (struggling)

Apparently the idea of domestic installers providing the warranty themselves has been scrapped. Something along the lines of not expecting electrical companies to become insurance companies as well. I believe the warranty is now going to be offered to the customer (for an additional cost) if...

What formal procedure for changing a consumer unit?

All circuits have to be tested when a new DB is put it........ May seem daft, but if someboady requests a periodic inspection of their property, and one of the results of the inspection is that the DB requires upgrading..........the DB gets replaced..........you then have to retest the...

    Dodgy wall lights..someone help please!

How are/were the wall lights switched beofre? From a single wall switch that switched both at the same time?, or was the switch arrangement a switch for each wall light? Did the old lights have integral switches?

    Part Qualified (struggling)

Take a look at the NICEIC website, you can purchase pretty little A3 cards (or print of yourself) a cute little piece of information Re Earthing and bonding. Next time you look at a job in somebodys house and try to explain that you cannot do anything unless the main equipotential...

    Extending radial main

Personally I would be a little concerned adding 6-7 amps on an existing 15A radial, though I dare say there are those who would disagree.

    new shower...

All through this post I have been trying to think of the experiments done at college........where you pump more and more ampege through a piece of fuse wire until it blows. Ok, so im old now (grey hairs etc), but I do remember being rather surprised by how much more current over their rating...
