central heating fusing when boiler fires up

Process of elimination.............could try disconnecting the wires to the pump, and see if it still fuses when boiler fires up. I only say the pump as I got called out on a job before christmas and that turned out to be a buggered heating pump.

Worcester Heatslave 9.24 Internal Wiring Diagram.

A mate at work asked if I could do a little research on the net tonight to locate a wiring diagram for the above mentioned boiler. He has lost his user manual for it, and as yet I have been unable to find a diagram for it. I believe the problem is something to do with no hot water though the...

    Question

True Andy, i almost made that comment on my post.....until I realised that even so.....all the current will be coming through the main incomer. Therefore that even though the greater load will be on the RCD side....more current will be coming through the incomer than the RCD as this has the...

    Question

I suppose another reason could be that the main incomer is taking the entire load of the board, where as the RCD is only taking half of the board.

    A Few Electrical Questions

Im afraid you should have done as Adam said. When/if?? the circuit is tested the electrician will be unable to take an R1-R2 or earth loop reading at the end of the circuit due to lack of continuity. In turn this will produce a nice cross on the schedule of inspections test sheet under...

Do you have a known resistance (odd resistor) laying around that you could check the calibration of your meter with? Personally I wouldnt have thought your reading was anyhting to worry about.

    Consumer Unit question....

Well.......Im amazed...you learn something new every day. The company I work for has been going for about 80 years so while poking round the stores today, guess what I found? 7 Memera 3 MCB`s with carriers...........I never realised they made them. Unfortunately though they are all 15A lol

    Consumer Unit question....

Maplins sell them even cheaper (the hrc`s that is) £0.79 to £1.09.

    Consumer Unit question....

I don`t think your going to find anything in the way of MCB`s to fit a Memera 3 board. In your original post you commented on the replcement fuses being expensive, Out of interest how much have you been paying? A quick scan on the net reveals approx £1.50 each, you could order one of each size...

And so the debate go`s on, should you shouldnt you???, as mentioned previously a radiator doesnt necessarily require bonding direct (if the copper pipe to it is bonded).....then somebody commented on the fact there could be a lot of ptfe tape on the connections to the aforementioned and that the...
