Is it an oil boiler?
Are you qualified to install it :?:
Sounds like you have gravity hot water and a pumped central heating system. You will need to up grade system to fully pumped! Put tvrs on all your radiators and power flush the system.
Get some one who knows what he or she is...
Yes. Grants are telling you the truth.
Riello have had pump problems for ages; and its not grants fault!
Im an oftec registered tradesman, and I have been back to several grant boilers and other manufacturers that have a riello oil pump on their burners.
Its slowly getting better as...
check to see if the push button, is making contact with the syphon, there may be two rods that go into the top of the syphon.
the water continuing into the cistern sounds like the valve is not closing straight away. how old is the unit? there maybe some sediment on the rubber seal.
From previous experience; May I ask if you are a 'Qualified / OFTEC registered technician.'
If you are then get back to me with your ID number and I will explain the problem : :)
If your not a 'Qualified and competent' person, then WHY  Are you working with some thing you know...
Hi, It sounds to me that you will need to replace the pan!!
If the build up of lime scale is that bad, you will not be able to clear it from the rim of the pan and this will eventually prevent a correct flush.
Hope this is of some help..
