    Honeywell CM927 Starting to Fail.

Just a follow on from the above I’ve been looking at the wiring arrangements for a possible DIY change-out of the receiver CM927/BDR91 to the T4R. I’ve provided an image of the existing wiring also a copy of the wiring for the possible replacement. Anyone know if these are ‘like for like’...

    Honeywell CM927 Starting to Fail.

Thanks for the pointer. It’s got me searching the internet and can see YouTube videos on how to fix the screen display issue. It appears to me that they suffer from ‘dry joint’ syndrome. By stripping them down, applying heat seems to resolve the issue, don’t know whether this is long or just a...

    Honeywell CM927 Starting to Fail.

Hi Chris. Just to clarify the ‘plugging in’ comment. The T6R display/controller comes with a mains cable and plug. And on further investigation I realised my mistake on the T4R, I’ve just noticed the T4R display’s power source is similar to the CM927 i.e. batteries. That would just leave a...

    Honeywell CM927 Starting to Fail.

Hi Chris. Thank you for your response. I have a Combi system; the CM927 part is located in the lounge with the receiver box BDR91 next to the boiler. I’m tempted to ‘nurse’ the existing one over the summer when a heating outage won’t matter. I’ve been able to get it back to life by applying...

    Honeywell CM927 Starting to Fail.

I’ve got a four year old CM927 exhibiting sign of failure. (Display failing, but when I exert pressure on the PCB it then recovers for a while). I believe this is fairly common with some of these devices. Have been in touch with Honeywell and they have offered a £25 discount on the RRP of either...

    Wylex Consumer Unit replacement help.

The revised image was in response to the request "Can't see if you have an isolator for the main feed but looks like one fuse :) Bigger and clearer would be better". I shall leave things for now and revisit it once the current crises subsides. Thanks again, Benny.

Thanks for your detailed reply. If it helps, this is a close-up of the meter/supply feed.

    Wylex Consumer Unit replacement help.

This is an image for the internal meter set up. The four tails I referred to can be seen, 2 on the left going to the house CU with the others to a breaker switch which in turn feeds to garage CU. I hope it clear enough.

    Wylex Consumer Unit replacement help.

That’s a relief. It’s just I’ve seen some Energy Supplier’s promotional videos showing an installer brandishing a meter and carrying out some form of testing. Will the two ‘tails’ terminating at the meter present any issues? Regards, Benny.

    Wylex Consumer Unit replacement help.

While my original question generated a great deal of informed debate and as I still have the attention of the same experts could I ask a further question. With my current energy contract ending next month and most of the reliable providers insisting on fitting a Smart Meter (for the best deals)...

    Wylex Consumer Unit replacement help.

Given that these are still available and they must also have an extensive installed base I'm fairly relaxed. I'll see what the Electrician has to say when I get round to getting it done. Following this afternoons announcements on the current crises it could be some time away. Thanks to all for...

    Wylex Consumer Unit replacement help.

Thanks for all the various inputs. My original question was prompted by my desire to firstly establish the integrity of the circuits and should they be ‘issue free’ then proceed with the change out. The last thing I want, is having replaced the CU, to then find failings that necessitate ripping...

    Wylex Consumer Unit replacement help.

Thanks for your input. Like your situation, I realise my system may have some shortcoming by today’s standards, however, everything functions and I have never suffered fuses/MCB’s failing. Sadly I find myself in that age group where the Health Minister has just suggested I ‘self isolate’ for...

Thanks for that. I’m just debating whether to leave things as they are as any re-work/re-wire would disturb a lot of decorating. Before going any further do you have any idea of the cost of the work you describe above, it’s a three bedroom Simi?
