    I've since been informed that the gas valve solanoid(probably spelled wrong) is magnatized during operation. if no magnetic pull, it's a sure sign of valve failure. is someone having me on?

    Hi, have checked output to gas valve. it's ok. does it now point to stuck gas valve. if so i guess it's a corgi job cos it's gas?

    Thanks again Dave. will check terminals and hope for the best, whatever that might be. i understand a gas valve is pretty pricey to replace too.

    Thanks Dave. that was quick! should you get output always at gas valve terminals or do you check it when the boiler is trying to light? you say pcb gone again, have you known of any new ones to go that quick? potterton won't fix it for free if it is that dispite it only being 7 months old...

    Hi, came home on friday night to find the boiler won't ignite. there is a spark as far as i can see through the view hole. we have had the pcb replaced following the watchdog thing regarding overheat lockouts so we now have the replacement kit pcb. following trying to light 5 times, the boiler...
