    Fitting TRV's

I think you are confusing the old rad tail as part of the rad. Those tail pieces in the pic go into a new rad (as new rads are not supplied with them) or replace old ones. I personally would replace them as it looks cleaner, but you don't have to. If you do take the old ones out you...

Looking for an apprentice vacancy in NW

Hi Nick, From reading your posts it was like reading my life story, poor start in life, unsupportive parents, failed attempt at a university degree due to finacial costs (although mine was mechanical engineering), then a stupid decision to become a plumber. I took a 2 year evening class for...

    Remove radiator without disconnecting?

Doing it as you suggest you'll be in danger of damaging the pipe work, then you'll have problems, but it can be done if your very careful but will involve closing the valves and relieving any pressure via the rad bleed vent then very slighty loosen the rad valve unions to allow you to pivot the...

    Moving toilet back 90mm

You could try a swan neck pan connector. This will move it back a bit but not the whole 90mm. You'll need to move the hole in the floor to get the cistern flush with the wall.

Where to site an impeller pump for shower?

Ideally as youv'e said the pump should be situated at the base of the cylinder, I think you can do it your way but you will need to do it via an essex flange and anti gravity loop from the hot cylinder to prevent air getting into the pump, but the best thing to do is choose which pump you want...

Vented & Unvented whats the difference and benefits?

G3 is a building regulation. Unvented cylinders should be installed by plumbers who hold a G3 certificate to ensure it meets building regulations. Provided you have good pressure and flow rates, you should go for the unvented. The only benefits of a combi are they are cheaper to install and...

Help - how do I replace this toilet seat

afair you should be able to remove the lid via the hinges. I think the pins holding the lid to the bracket on the pan should come out. Then the cover plate on the bracket should pop off.

    whirlpool washing machine

I went to look at a friends AWOD 6107 who said it wasn't working (I'm a plumber so he figured I may be able to help!) When I arrived there was a service light on along with 3 others indicating a fault of some sort. The door wouldn't open so I unplugged it and manually opened the door. When I...

    Adjusting toilet inlet pipe

The chances are if you have kinked the plastic pipe and the flexi then you have compromised their integrity. I would remove the plastic pipe and flexi and fit one of these. http://www.screwfix.com/p/flexi-hose-1-2-x-1-2-x-300mm-bx10fpfp30s/66800 This can be connected directly onto the...
