    Cost of re-laying laminate floor

I take that back. The raised bit is definitely because the concrete is not level. See photo. How difficult will this be to rectify? We are probably talking about a metre squared about a meter into the room. The bouncy edge under the plinth is a separate issue. Again probably because the floor...

    Cost of re-laying laminate floor

Oh and he used Vitrex premium underlay board. I wonder if it's a problem with the way he had laid this or if it's a bit misshapen.

    Cost of re-laying laminate floor

Well I went round with a spirit level and it was completely flat everywhere. A few tiny 'bumps' but nothing I would have thought would make a difference.

    Cost of re-laying laminate floor

Hmm I'm pretty sure. There is only one door and that is at the other end of the room to the end of the kitchen where the biggest bounce is. There seemed to be a comfortAble gap where the pipes are. There seems to be a bit in one part that is higher than others which doesn't make sense given the SLC!

    Cost of re-laying laminate floor

Saga continues, slightly, he pulled up the ruined laminate. Pulled up the parquet and applied SLC throughout. Let it dry. Then he laid the foam mats and laminate on top. Also left expansion gaps around. But there is major major movement - bouncy - in the floor under the plinth - the one under...

Max temp too low - new thermostatic shower mixer valve

I did it! Just a case of taking the lever off and adjusting until desired temperature then replacing. This vid was useful for anyone in a similar predicament. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2pVuvG6q84A&feature=related

    Cost of re-laying laminate floor

Scrap all that. A pipe has burst under the sink (builder's fault) flooding the entire room, floor ruined so it will have to be re layed anyway. The builder (with help of husband) has now mopped up all the water and his insurers will be in tomorrow supposedly to assess the damage before he starts...

Max temp too low - new thermostatic shower mixer valve

Thanks! I am going to give recalibratuon a go when I have a spare moment. The installation instructions are nowhere to be found so I can't point it out to him. He gets very tetchy when I suggest anything that may have been done wrong. Yes 'silly' is exactly the word :P

    Cost of re-laying laminate floor

Crazydaze, thanks that's really useful to know. I am 99% sure the parquet doesn't dip (in fact it is in pretty good nick it's just we didn't have it in the kitchen area and wanted one covering throughout). Will get some quotes anyway.

    Cost of re-laying laminate floor

I know exactly what the problem is - its because the floor is lower in one part than the other. Yes there is a small expansion gap round the edges and this is hidden by scotia. Photo of slope attached. It doesn't seem to be a problem the whole width of the kitchen/dining room divide. The...
