Rejoining a dead leg to main feed.

Hi. So I have a 22mm supply line running through the kitchen. It appears that someone has come off this with a 15 to serve the old WC. This has now moved so I initially capped off the hot (the cold I have moved to supply the washing machine.) Now having read up on dead legs I wondered if it...

    Slightly blocked inlets new mixer

Sorry to bump but have a question. So I'm going to run 22 to the mixer, then was thinking of running 22 to the shower head (300x300 rainfall thing). I can only see a 15x1/2bsp wall plate. My question is... is there any point of running 22 up into the ceiling if I have to throttle it down to...

    Slightly blocked inlets new mixer

Hi all, my new shower mixer just turned up and found that both inlets look partially blocked. It seems strange that both inlets are the same so not sure if it's supposed to be. Anyone come across this before? And on this note.. as the ins and outs are quite big (3/4), would I benefit from...

    Sewer pipe air vent question

damn I totally misread this. I thought it was talking about height of the AAV. I wondered why I didn't understand the measurement lol. I'll probably just keep it 4". I will reuse the old length of pipe so won't cost anything.

    Sewer pipe air vent question

Thanks for you reply and advice. 1. The noise shouldn't be a problem as the drop part from the first floor to the WC hole (for want of the correct terminology for it) is behind a cupboard so hopefully will be ok. As for air compression... ‍ This line goes on its own all the way out to the 3 way...

    Sewer pipe air vent question

Actually, what's your thoughts on using maybe a 50mm pipe with a 50mm AAV on it? It's just I'm going to try and recreate the image below and would be good if I can use a 50 and run it where the red line is so it don't take up too much space inside the cupboard part.

    Sewer pipe air vent question

Been up in the loft to look at the current setup as I thought the soil pipe was vented to outside through the roof tiles but it just has an AAV on it in the loft so think I'll just do the same. I thought it was going to be grief running the new one to the old roof tiles opening but if it's just...

Help me stop this darn water please.

Ohhh no that's absolutely fine I understand. No it is a gas boiler and cylinder all in one. Obviously has the electrical immersion as a backup but it's an all in one. Most people who work on them say they're horrendous though lol. But it's what was in the house when I moved in. Potterton...

Help me stop this darn water please.

ahhhh I'm sorry. This Potterton is a boiler and cylinder in one so yes I was referring to it as a boiler. Sorry. Didn't help when I googled UV all that came up was 'ultraviolet'. Now I realise you meant 'unvented... cylinder' my bad. Thank you so much. I think I'll do both. Am I right in...

    Sewer pipe air vent question

Hi all. Do I am fitting a new bathroom upstairs and changing the position of the toilet. Long story short I am loosing the old soil stack that serviced this bathroom and plumbing it into a now disused downstairs WC hole in the ground (which leads to the same sewer connector) I have just...

Help me stop this darn water please.

I am assuming the cold mains in is the pipe labelled as if it was the one to the left of it, the ball valve would only isolate the feed to the house but not the boiler. The cold feed appears to come into a ball valve, then T's. DOWN I assume to feed the rest of the house (cold water in house...

Help me stop this darn water please.

Here's the setup. I am assuming that the "cold feed in" and "cold feed to house" is the right way round, otherwise there would be no isolation of the cold feed to the boiler.

I got a wet n dry vac so that's good. And of course a good old 'handy folding bucket'. The issue I've got with isolators is I only have access to each utility so would have to put isos on everything as and when I get to replace each. Would it be acceptable to put a 22mm full bore ball valve...

Help me stop this darn water please.

It is like a white/cream colour. It's have just measured the pressure (with water all back on) and is 29.6 psi if that means anything to anyone. I wouldn't say it sounds hollow but similarly it doesn't sound too dull. I'll add some pics shortly as I'll edit them now to explain.
