    Yep the ceiling roses ain't been updated so they all go to a junction box in the attic it looks like a birds nest!! I do want to replace it with something bigger to space the wires out more is there anything that's made for the job to do this??????

    Fair enough mate you can put power in the slave and take it to master but that would mea the load would have to come back upto the light from the master so I would have to run a double up for that anyhow so may aswell send down a 3 core from the slave to master and a 2 core for the split live :/...

    Nope no lives into slave the live has to come from the master ?

    And it would be a 2 core and earth from the light to a junction box then the live would be split there as the ceiling rose dont have any extra terminals on it

    It's a varlight Eclique dimmer and they are safe to use 2 way they have an overload and heat sensor and shut off if there is a problem probably safer than a normal rocker ? :/

    So that red must be for all 2 way switches as powers always comes from the opposite to one of the switches ??

    It's ok the threads are the same situation but one I asked about the regs on having power going downstairs from upstairs and the other about the master/slave Mabe I got them mixed up a little lol

    Taking a live/neutral from the junction box (coming from fuse board) to the lights then taking the split live down to the bottom switch which is a master which has to be as its a 2 way for a single light at bottom then fetching a 3 core back up to the slave which will work the landing 2way and...

    Yep was going to take the live and neutral the light upstairs then take the split live to the switch downstairs to the master just worried that it's against regs as if someone turned the downlights off on breaker board that switch would still be live downstairs ??

    Was going to take a supply from upstairs down to master downstairs for landing light upstairs so the breaker turns the landing off on the up lights as its upstairs so is that safe taking a supply from upstairs to a switch downstairs ?

    No that's going back it's 2 gang and the other gang is useless as its for the one way in bathroom ?

    Does a landing light need to be on the "up lights" or "downlights" circuit ? Thanks

    no the single is for the landing (2way) and master for the bathroom one way :)
