worcester greenstar utility 18/25 oil burner photocell can't see flame

Thanks for the input guys. You were definitely on the right track. While sitting looking at the boiler i noticed a groove the other side of the photocell housing where the cable should route through and when i examined the photocell I could see that the bulb part (without the plastic shroud) was...

worcester greenstar utility 18/25 oil burner photocell can't see flame

I rang my oil burner man and he confirmed not to touch the nozzle adjustment but that the electrode has a 4mm Allen Key that can be slackened and moved. So will try this later...

worcester greenstar utility 18/25 oil burner photocell can't see flame

Hi. Thanks for the replys. It doesn't have a colour sensitive photocell. It looks like you can adjust the electrode gap (2.5 to 3mm) and the gap between the nozzle and the combustion head (3mm), are these the only adjustable settings? I can get the co2, air adjustment, heat settings...

worcester greenstar utility 18/25 oil burner photocell can't see flame

Hi I am having problems with the oil burning boiler. I have tracked it down to the photocell not seeing the flame properly (I can start the boiler with the cell covered and if i shine a light on it once started it runs OK). If the photocell is placed in boiler as normal the boiler starts for...

    Foundations for first floor extension

I can't fully answer your question but I can give you an example of what a neighbour of mine did recently. The foundations he had were only really suitable for single storey but becaue he used a timber frame build for his upper storey he did not have to alter the foundations - maybe to do with...

    Garage build option

Hi Planning permission has just been agreed. The original plan (after a few beers with a mate who builds timber frame houses) was to timber frame the garage. My mate is so unreliable I sourced a brickie (wifes cousin) who is going to help me do the brickwork first, single skin with...

    Howdens Kitchen

Howdens units are preassembled. I found getting the biggest spirit level you can get you hands on is good so you can check levels from base units if they span a corner or you have a long run of straights as they can run off abit (especially in old wonky houses like mine!) I bottled the worktop...

    grohe thermostatic mixer shower problem

Hello, Unfortuantely testing the flow before and after the pump is a bit of a problem as its in a loft of an old four bed stone house. I would need to find a fitting to attach to the the pump inlet and outlet and then get a hose on it and then find somewhere to feed the hose outside. The...

    grohe thermostatic mixer shower problem

Hello, I am puzzling on with my parent’s shower that works intermittently It’s a grohe thermostatic mixer shower that is fed by an independent hot and Cold water tank in the loft. The shower is pumped by a grohe active 75 pump. I isolated the pump and removed the mixer bar and let the...

    Removing decking screws Ryobi drill/driver

Paul, Make sure you are using the right size and type of bit. I made the mistake earlier on in my DIY of using phillips bits instead of pozi drive on pozi drive screws this ruins the heads and means you don't get good purchase. I would buy some decent bits before buying a new drill and see...
