    easy way... if the unit has two starters (they are the round small thing that screws into the lighting unit!!) swap them over and see if the other lamp starts flickering if you cant see a starter good chance it hasnt got one so you can forget that!!

    decide carefully who you go with as the organisation i am with are terrible. They took so long to register me and arrange an assesment to be honest they are prob as good as each other......once they got the money they aint interested in you. i am talking with my feet this year biggest regret...

    Is the starter okay??? also check the tube you put in is okay and not another faulty one!!!! if that seems all okay could be faulty internals.....time to get the meter out!!!!!!

    strange how you hear people say they are electricians but can't test .. if this is the case how do you know your work is safe and correct. Even if you arent doing it with part p in mind and issuing certification you still need to test everything you do!!!!!!! for your own peice of mind if...

    what size are the cables suppling these circuits? And what size are the main supply cables? sounds possibly like a high resistant contact somewhere or a cable failing under load. Best to get a sparky in to check it out...and make sure your buildings insurance is up to date ......only...

    think you'll find the 6000 is the flash rating (short circuit capacity) you need to ideally check the potential fault current on the installation could just be model number as well are they HAGER?. the socket you could install a 5amp round pin socket as an indication that it is low rated...

    glad i'm not the only one to come across stuff like this. The most common i think is def cutting the cpc out instead of just connecting it......!!!!! but the no back box one is sooooo common as well!!! One of the best ones was a 10kw shower on a 6mm t&e that had a 7kw hand wash tagged...
