    This doesnt seem right, sure a belt sander turns in one direction, but the detail sander doesn't. It just sort of jiggles and vibrates around. Why wouldn't that be good for an attachment too?

    Don't worry about this, I have a respirator mask, goggles, and ear protectors, i put them all on whenever i use the belt sander. Safety is important! and its plenty good enough for walls, no complaints there its just not precise enough for the details on doorframes
