I’ve also just read that the pump as a common fault on these is that the pump impeller can come adrift from the motor shaft. have you ever come across this?

Okay! If the capsule was jammed would I be getting heating at all! My house still gets warm from the 30secs of hearing. All be it very slowly! I think you can still get the capsules from what I’ve read. I just can’t see where it would go

I think this one is running to be honest. I’m getting a humming sound and a vibration that suggests it is I take it we have ruled out the wax capsule? By turning off the cold INtake. I’m going to leave the cold water off for a while see if this has an effect :) rather than just turning it off...

Would a sticking pump be more inconsistent with the fault? Like run for different amount of times?

I think the pump is working okay! On the main circuit board there are 4 plastic square sparks as it cuts out

Okay I’ll give that a go! Tell you what I have noticed. My boiler hasn’t locked out after using the hot water since I’ve noticed this problem.

Hard to tell if the pump is working! When the boiler stops I listen for sounds that it’s still running but it’s hard to here what with all the other noises! Is there a way to test? There is a nut in the centre of the pump. Should this be free?

Any more ideas on my problem Ian? Doesn’t sound like a wax capsule! I take it if the pump wasn’t working I wouldn’t be getting hw either?

I decided to pull one off the diaphragm bottom right of the photo. it has made no difference :(

I’m not really sure what the dhw switch is? Is this above the diverter valve? The bit I’ve circled

I just turned the stop tap off! Will this do the same thing? Boiler fired up momentarily then switched off. Then repeated a few minutes later then the false firing starts again.

Thanks, I will get an engineer out! Just not the best time New Year’s Day! If I had a dripping tap the boiler would think it’s calling for hot water. But it isn’t. I thought all combi boilers would work on the same principle! thought it might be a easy fix has you can get hot water with no issues
