Thanks Guys. The boilerman has taken away this part for cleaning and has not returned it yet despite phones call. Promised 29 and 30th December but nothing and now I have a serious chest infection. Thought it strange that the burner could be the root of the soot problem.

Can anyone help. My boiler has been working for years with no problems. Suddenly it is producing soot at a rapid rate despite cleaning. A plumber has been today and suggested the Burner, aeromatic 7/51995 unit is at fault as everything looks OK. However this part is not available thus my...
