There's a nut holding that crescent-shaped bracket in place; you need to tighten it.
A special long tubular spanner might help:

Ah, think I might have found one:

Is this what I need?
That's fantastic
Thanks to everyone for the advice. I think that with the amount of plumbing I need to do, I should probably invest in a new torch.
And if Benzomatic manufacture for Rothenberger, that's what I'll go for.
Cheers
Steve
Thanks namsag, I've just printed off the manual so Ill check the connections before trying to solder it up. Just one thing, do I use leaded or unleaded solder with me rothenberger.
These are the dogs appendages if you're a reasonable amount of soldering, wouldn't be without mine.

Rothenberger-Rolot S2 are the best brazing rods available.
Cu - 92.8%
P - 6.3.
About £40 quid per kilo.
Silver can be added which of course increases the price and lowers the skill required to use them.
Plumbers merchants do a set of box spanner just for this purpose, if you get metric socket set go for long reach type.

But 14mm 9/16"
It is for a Bristain monoblock
Point taken, on that note, can anyone suggest a decent test bucket for wet testing. I'd imagane the rothenberger one mentioned earlier in the thread should be pretty good. Anybody used one of these or any others they could recommend?
Hi I have a few Disposable gas cylinders (1 propane 2 MAPP), the type that go on the Rothenberger super fire 2 and other blowtorchs. Does anyone know of the best place to get rid of them? thanks.
hard to say. i bought a large pair of rothenberg plastic cutters at 25 quid. they even cut up to 42mm waste pipe. . it depends what sizes u need them for and how much use they'll get.
fitz1 have you ever tried to burn plasterboard it is fireproof it can with stand a Rothenberger Surefire 2 s heat, i ve used plasterboard when my heat mat has yet again blown through
I take my Rothenberg torch off the canister at home, but it doesn't get a lot of use.
The same torch at work gets left on as we use it quite frequently (good old steel fasteners into aluminium casings, a daily fight!).
You'll need a tap box spanner set like this .....
