There's a fair bit of this tube around Bexhill. Most people shave it down and use a compression fitting. I anneal it and use my rothenberger pipe expander to form a socket.
I usually knock seven bells out of them using the box spanner's (Rothenberger) lever.
And if all else fails heat it till it's red hot then it should move.
Did I make a good or bad call buying this torch? I did some research and based upon budget and requirements I felt this a reasonable option.
Rothenberger Superfile 2
It's something you can measure now yourself, https://www.screwfix.com/p/rothenberger-water-pressure-test-gauge-10bar/53626
This will be useful for future tests too
You can simply buy a set of long reach monobloc sockets.
Rothenberger is one brand.
Any good plumber has them.
Only a few pounds. Basically box spanners
I actually meant cut the horizontal piece that comes out of the boiler, but I guess you could cut there too.
Search for "solder mat", Rothenberger do some decent ones.
You don't need to attack the cover with a knife FFS. A pair of grips will pull it off.:

This is the box spanner you will need.

hilmor not bad for the price. do prefer record or rothenberger. found some cheaper benders will offset a bend slightley when aligned straight for doing something like an offset. if that makes sense :?
rothenberger rp50 for pressure testing central heating and water pipe work but thats not an air test. Gas pipe work i use a ragin piece of kit when air testing this.
Haven't ever heard anyone say that about Rothenberger torches. In my experience they last about five years, which is pretty good for a tool that's used almost every day

might be not worth buying for a one off job though
I prefer the Bernzomatic TS7000 to the Rothenbergers. It costs less and it has a smaller snozzle/flame which is good to use in confined areas.
