    Peeled paid bathroom walls

How old is the house? Do you use an effective extactor that prevents condensation and excess humitity? Are all walls peeling, or just the (colder) external walls? Are the patches where there used to be something on the wall? Tile surround, mirror, cupboard, cistern?

Back to wall toilet too close to cistern?

We had dripping under toilet from condensation forming on cistern. I filled the inside with foam and it works although around January we still get a bit. You can buy insulated cisterns or get a blender fitted so both hot and cold water fills cistern. The pipe you refer to. Is it this one? Here...

    New CH/DHW System choices

Thanks for the tip. Hadn't thought of that as an option. I googled for pumped DHW circuit info and found some interesting stuff on the Grundfoss site. Made me think: with the loo at the end of the line, I could just feed the cistern through a suitable thermostatic blending valve (i.e 15 - 25...

    Condensation from toilet

You need an extractor fan and a permanent vent in a bathroom regardless of windows to avoid mold growth and excessive condensation. The problem is caused by lack of forethought when the bathroom was constructed ideally toilets should not be in a bathroom, it's unhygienic and unpleasant and of...

    condensation on toilet cisterns

This will probably give the opposite effect as the warmer air can hold more water vapour, so when the air contacts the cold cistern the vapour will condense. It would be less of a problem if the toilet isn't flushed so often then the water in it can warm up.

    Toilet has resumed Leaking again!

Sorry, silly question, but how much water? I get a LOT of condensation from my cistern. And I'm sure I will be frowned at by the plumbers, but I will always mastic around any rubber seals just to make sure!

    Bathroom Condensation

There is one guaranteed way of stopping the condensation and that is to pipe up your cistern to the hot supply. Ok , stop laughing you lot, I didn't say it was a very practical answer did I ? Mind you the toilet will stay a lot cleaner.

    Cistern condensation

Here are two US methods of dealing with WC cistern condensation: 1. Thermal Safe Toilet Tank Liner kits $18 2. Adjustable anti-sweat valves for toilet tanks $40 This device pre-mixes hot and cold water to room temp. before adding to the tank. 1/2" thread. It would help to have a small...

    Bathroom Condensation

Haven't got a postcard so I type it here. (1) Sadly no, there nothing you can do apart from getting rid of the cistern and use the bucket full of water to flush the toilet. (2) I've seen a cistern tray type which clip onto the pipe underneath to collect the water onto it to stop...

    Condensation on pipes

ps, making the room warmer will only speed up the proccess but if the toilet is not flushed as often in a warmer room it will warm up the water in the cistern and the condensation will eventually stop but the stop tap will allways suffer, insulate it it may look unsightly but lesser of 2 evils.

    ok my toilet

no solution that i have heard of....but trust me, most of the time it not a problem. when you are only flushing the toilet every other hour or similar, the cistern does not get cold enough (i have seen some exceptions) and the condensation wont happen

    Connecting to Rising Main

The reason would be mixer taps and showers needing balanced pressure, nowadays if it's all off a Combi then it's all at mains pressure anyway. You can get condensation all over your toilet cistern if you use the mains feed too.

    condensation on toilet cisterns

Install an immersion heater in the cistern? If you stick something cold in a humid room you will always get condensation. You must either get rid of some of that humidity or warm up the "something cold". Upping the heat in that room may help as the water vapour is less likely to...

Leaking water inlet valve after 5 washers!!

OK, so have finally managed to fix the drip :D But, I keep having a look just to make sure, and I have noticed that there is an incredible amount of condensation on the cistern, so much in fact, that it is slowly dripping onto the floor! I am assuming that this is due to the whole cistern...

    toilet leak

Close coupled or separate wc and cistern? Dry everything off and flush the toilet a few times then feel around for the leak. Sometimes wc pans can be porous if they are not glazed properly. Leaks can be intermittent if the pot and cistern arent secure. Check your balltap isnt leaking...

    Question about damp in walls

I have had a bathroom fitted by local firm. For the cistern they built a wooden frame, plaster boarded it the tiled it no access apart from where there is a panel on the front (I know it shouldn't really be like that and that's another issue not for here). I had some dampness on the bedroom...

    toilet.,

Has the new toilet been fitted, or is this around the old one? If it's the old one, are you really bothered, since it'll be getting replaced....? If it's the new one, then; If it's condensation, you'll find it on the outside of the cistern, or on the inlet pipe which supplies the water...
