Advice on boiler and changing heating programmer please

Hi, Could some of you heating peeps give me some advice please? I moved in to my house about 6 weeks ago! I have a gravity-fed system with three-port from an oil fired floor standing boiler which is controlled by a Danfoss programmer ( dont know the model as the front panel is...

Bathroom Extractor Fan - Ceiling mounted

Building Regs recommend a minimum extract rate of 6-10 air changes per hour for a shower room. it's not all about where the extractor is, but how quickly it extracts. Mould and mildrew will only grow in constantly damp conditions. Just make sure the extracted air can be made up, usually...

    SDS core drills

Bosch all the way! I have had numerous SDS drills in the past, mainly cos they keep getting nicked. Bosch best by far (blue pro range obviously). Reliable, take any abuse and never break (in my experience). They are also a bit cheaper than Dewalt, Makita and Metabo. I have one with...

Bathroom Extractor Fan - Ceiling mounted

Wall mounted fans are fine. Calculate the volume of the room: height x length x width. Average bathroom will be approximately 9m3. An average 100mm extract fan will move 0.04m3/second of air. Therefore this will change the air 16 times an hour or once every 3.75 minutes, plenty!! Vent Axia...

    Engineered oak door suppliers?

Can anyone recommend a supplier for engineered oak doors? I have been buying Premdor from Jewson, but wondered if there was anyone else manufacturing/supplying these for a good price. Jewson's prices are OK if I buy 5 or more, but each they tend to be expensive. I want a pair of half...

    price !!!!!!!!

I cost materials, skirting approximately £1.40 p/linear metre (depending on what size and profile you use) plus VAT. Plus any additions, gripfill, screws and plugs etc. Add 35% to mats plus labour. OR you can buy blank timber and route your own profile, takes very little more time (but a...

    DIY kitchen suppliers

Magnet, IMHO are not good. Quality is same as the 'sheds'. price is significantly higher, due to them aiming at a higher end market. It's all MFC and vinyl wrapped mdf, no matter what handles and Corian worktops you put on it!

    DIY kitchen suppliers

I looked at making my own carcasses too, I even bought a pillar drill specifically for the purpose, but couldn't justify the time and expense (space is an issue here too). To be honest, when all's said and done they're all cut pieces of MFC, banged together with cams and dowels. Spending time...

    Question about my Vaillant combi

There is no gas leak (checked with u-tube manometer). This is obviously an intermittent fault, why would either a pcb or gas valve (solenoid I presume) intermittently play up? I know that it is virtually unheard of for an electronic pcb to intermittently fault. I am none the wiser!

    Festool

I would say that Festool are (arguably) the best quality power tools on the market. However, imho, they are only really worth the (extortionate) cost if you you use them all day, every day. As for stealabilty, I would say they are more nickable, not only cos everyone knows they are...

    DIY kitchen suppliers

I hope this is in the right section, couldn't see a dedicated kitchen section. I have been scouring the internet for cheap kitchen carcasses and doors. I have pretty much decided on a company called www.121tradedirect.co.uk They manufacture carcasses and doors (want pvc wrapped)...

    Question about my Vaillant combi

Hi, new here. I am a 'fridge engineer by trade and an amateur property developer, i.e spend years renovating wrecks and then not making any money on them! :D I've got a Vaillant Ecomax combi boiler which trips out every so often (sometimes 3 times a week, sometimes once a month) and...

    Exploding fridge

Hi, new here. A/C and fridges are my trade, unfortunately! Does your fridge have a water feed? If so, it could be an aggressive solenoid valve. Or it could be piston slap on start or stopping of the compressor. If it is this (unlikely due to the indicated loudness), the comp won't last...
