    Boris's BIG Payday

Tony Blair's Net worth is $60M, Gordon Brown $15M. What's your point?

    Tax dodger files for bankruptcy

Tony Blair famously paid £315k on income of £12m. I wonder if JohnD posted about that ?

    Tax dodger files for bankruptcy

My tax bill was around half of Tony blair’s and I didn’t make £6m last year.

    Amber Rudd

it’s good when governments admit they screwed up and try to fix it. I liked that about Blair’s government too. Judge them on what they do now.

    Reform in meltdown

nah. There are a handful of left centralists in the Labour Party, the rest are frustrated lefties, annoyed that it took the meltdown of the tories for them to get power and that as soon as they start rolling out leftie nonsense it will be snatched back again. Meanwhile the Tories have given up...

    Vive La France!

I think they are all useless - have I not been clear? Liked Cameron’s coalition the best. Blair was too nanny state for me and starmer is clearly a silent assassin. Same as sunak

    Old Conservatives don't understand

According to the chart in odds’ link the conservatives out performed Labour fairly consistently. Affordable house building tanked under blair. Conservatives out performing Labours best years - 6 times.

    Bored with Boris?

[On Starmer]He's so frightened of saying or doing the wrong thing, he says nothing and does nothing. At least Corbyn had a vision, Blair had charisma, Brown had experience. Sadly, in politics brand is everything.

Bod voted Tory in Harlow. How did you vote?

Thats impressive - how did they do that before they were in government. One single, national ID card, operated by the state is such a ridiculously bad idea, to anyone who has ever worked in Fraud prevention.

    Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

If you look at the data this was way closer than it seemed based on the returns. The LibDems did quite well despite their policy and leadership. Labour could easily swing it back next time, if they can stop the progress of corbynism and momentum. They need another Tony Blair.

    Build, build, build.

Treaty of Mastrict - John Major Uncapped migration of expanded EU (free for all) - Tony Blair Treaty of Lisbon - Gordon Brown I think you'll find the foundations were laid before the last government - with it being 2:1 labour's watch. Had Blair eased on the brakes likes other countries did, I...

John Major gets it - Brexit

John Major was responsible for the Maastricht treaty from a UK perspective which was the start of a Federated open EU. Without it, the UK might never have voted leave. So you can kinda' get his agenda on Brexit. He's about as impartial as Tony Blair is on new-old-labour.

    Old Conservatives don't understand

So to sum up Thatcher built nearly 100 x more council houses per year than Blair. The decline of home ownership among the young slowed under the tories and has started improving. And the lefties hate poorer people having a chance to buy a home they’ve rented for years at a discount.

    Old Conservatives don't understand

The best jobs are always ones you create yourself. But the chart clearly shows the decline happened under Tony Blair's watch and has improved since. Good Job @JohnD. Another way to look at the data:

Public sector hard done by ......B☆☆☆☆☆ks !

...workers in the private sector pay for the benefits of those employees in the public sector. I think public sector pay was booming in the blair govt. Very high pay for roles and responsibilities. The squeeze has normalised that. Everyone can think of some who do vital roles on low pay...
