Beam and Block with timber frame Detail

Makes sense now? If you're talking about how Building Control consider the floor area then it's the internal floor area so calculate your area up to the inside face of the plasterboard.

Beam and Block with timber frame Detail

Your foundation walls needs to be wider than 140mm, so that you can sit the ends of the beams on the foundation walls, then you have to cut the outer skin of 140 blocks down to get the vents in behind. The contractor we used is a render specialist who, I'm not sure of the manufacture. If it...

Beam and Block with timber frame Detail

There's no cavity on the above details either, they are also just timber frame. The details show the telescopic vent in pink. They exit (in this case) through the insulated cladding. If you have no cladding there then they just exist through the blockwork or brick if your masonry below the...

    Hanging a wooden garden gate

I would look for another gate, one where both the struts are going from bottom to top as per the following pic. They supply ones like the one in your pic to suit both a left or right hand hanging but they are a compromise.

    Architect drawings / costs

Pedant of the year and only 6 posts in, well done. When do technicians and the like state 'this drawing was drawn by an architect'?

Loose metal bracket in LG washer

Seeing as these paddles are available they must be replaceable, sadly the video on that page shows a different type of paddle but there might be a video showing these types elsewhere on the web, it does look like they slide to unlock, might need to use more brute force. I think you'll have to...

Certain tools - do I need them?

I have a cheap digital vernier gauge, use it all the time, probably only about £5 off eBay, not incredibly accurate of course but great for measuring bolt diameter, drill bits etc, wouldn't be without it. But if you've never had a need to own such tools up to now then why would you bother?
