    What has become of...

Ethics ? Who is to be put a bigger risk of injury in the event of imminent collision ? Occupants of vehicle, occupants of other vehicles (likely) involved ? Bystanders ? Cyclists ? Motorcyclists ? Perhaps he who writes the algorithm(s) should take the blame ? Even the whole tree from coder to...

No driver controls ? Nobody on whom to blame in the event of collision ? Can't see beyond Level 4 max. I say get the driver aids really working well - convince drivers that the aids do the business, then go forward from there - walk before running. -0-

Maybe we are aiming to skip a step ? Driver aids which have built in redundancy would be my choice for the next gen' vehicles. Airgun advice?

Have a boxed (with the bits including cocking aid) BSA Scorpion .177 pistol procured late 70's. Back in the 90's had a pop in the garden, smashed a milk bottle at about 40 ft. Make a good club - pretty weighty solid piece. -0-

Dad - Will you buy me a motorbike ?

Survived 4, sometimes exhilarating years. I found biking caused me to think about speed, distance and sometimes what were the odds on the other drivers around me doing it by the book in an unusual situation... We all know about assuming - making an ass of you and me. So don't be an arse on...

    Smart charging alternators.

Yes, but, my vehicle even with a diminished capacity battery still did the same thing - ONLY on over run 15 or so Volts. On the throttle, however lightly, just reading a smidge over battery terminal Volts. Headlights on, dip or main, 14.4'ish Volts with smart sensor or without it, throttle or no...

My Smart charging vehicle and the effect upon emissions :- I have disconnected my smart charging, I do very little in town driving. During the last few weeks, no smarts, no idle stop (start stop) usually switched off anyway (the option button is there on my Civic). - Computer says 60mpg - I...

Pretty much got to the nub of it, just unsure about the neg (grnd) lead amp reading - Only found the vid where the author says neg cable (+ve) amps, engine running is the current flowing into battery - So what happens at tick over with headlights on and climate control working - the current is...

And the net amount - at the negative ground cable are the amps charging the battery. After fulfillment of the various electrical loads. As per the video @ 1:40 to 1:26 minutes. oops! @ 1:26 to 1:40 minutes. -0-

    Smart charging alternators.

In the following vid' (mildly interesting) I find the first mention of 'amp clamping' negative and positive battery cables - engine running - and the differing readings which pretty much match my own un-knowledgeable reasoning - ie. negative lead +ve reading is net amps (for charging battery)...
